China lacks on the Environment Front compared to US or European countries . Just take the example of clean air for starters . US despite having 300 Million people has the 7th Cleanest air in the world . I am not a westerner , I am a Pakistani living in US so I am not brainwashed by anything .

Developing countries tend to be more polluted than developed countries, China is more so as the world biggest industrial nation with the world biggest population, but China is the world biggest clean energy investor and government always put pollution reduction a priority, comparing to a decade ago, China's pollution is much much better and the air pollution is showing signs of being checked, that's the improvement that everyone can see.

The west was very polluted when they first industrialized , China just follows the same path, I m from Beijing, we witnessed the great improvement of Beijing's air by the year. Claiming that China develops without regards of environment is simply not true, China's development is well planned by the central government, not like haphazard growth in other developing countries.
