How reliable are they?

It's more a question of possible sabotage. They could have a hidden module within the reactor that with the press of a button in Beijing, could blow the whole bloody nuclear reactor to Timbuktu, resulting in devastation over a wide area and nuclear fallout that could last years!

P.S. I'm a conspiracy theorist! But I'm serious!

A recent report suggested that India is expanding a covert uranium enrichment plant capable of developing thermonuclear weapons, and it's likely to heighten tensions in a nuclear arms race with neighboring China and Pakistan. SO China must firstly pose India to sign NPT before giving any civil nuclear cooperation to a country who already have its nuclear weapons in the name of civil nuclear cooperation.

1. China can't do $hit to make India sign NPT .

2. All other countries are fine dealing with India although we are a non-signatory .

3. Even if China do not agree to have nuclear deal , it will have no impact on India .

4. We will get high quality uranium and top notch nuclear tech from other countries .
