`China can enter P`yang in 2 hours in case of contingency`

JANUARY 25, 2012 06:44
China is strengthening the mobility of its troops dispatched to the border with North Korea to prepare for contingencies in the North, according to a leading Japanese daily.

In a feature titled “The Analysis of the Chinese Armed Forces” Sunday, the Asahi Shimbun quoted a Chinese military source as saying, “Our military’s mobility is being enhanced. If a contingency erupts in the North, we can enter Pyongyang in about two hours.” The daily, however, said both the Chinese military and the government have officially denied the prospect of troop dispatch to the North for control of nuclear weapons and maintaining of public order in case of contingency.

According to Asahi, the Academy of Military Science, the highest think tank of the People`s Liberation Army of China, established a task force for risk control of the Korean Peninsula in 2007, when the health of then North Korean leader Kim Jong Il began deteriorating, and the task force drew up a secret report in 2010.

The report defined the Korean Peninsula as an area inseparable from China’s national security because the large number of North Korean refugees will affect all of China and North Korea acts as a buffer between South Korea, where U.S. forces are stationed. Accordingly, the report urged the collection and reporting of information on the North to the Chinese government.

The report also urged strict management of media and the Internet to prevent northeastern regions of China, which share a border with the North, from falling into confusion due to unfounded rumors. In addition, the task force said a simple misunderstanding and confusion vis-a-vis the North’s nuclear weapons development can lead to all-out war on the Korean Peninsula, adding, “The first goal is to swiftly prevent nuclear proliferation should the situation in the North become fluid.”

The Japanese daily said the alliance between Beijing and Pyongyang had turned sour due to the North’s nuclear test, but bilateral relations began recovering in the latter half of 2009. China is refusing to conduct joint military drills with North Korea or sell its state-of-the-art fighter J-10 to the Stalinist country.

No they can't. Military experts already dismissed the PLA claim.

PLA has no ability to air-drop that many paratroopers, and a handful of those that approach North Korea will be shot down by the world's densest air-defense network.(In other world, the North Korean air defense is impenetrable without a full-blown air defense suppression campaign which takes days even for the US). Amphibious landing(which takes days not hours) will be met by NK's world famous artillery force raining down tens of thousands of artillery shells too.

It took days for the PLA to mobilize to Sichuan. Going to North Korea is like entering hell's gate.

they will invite us to go in to help them ,just like Korean government invited Qing troops for control of Korea in 1800s.we are their guardian.

Opinion: A Chinese takeover of North Korea? Unlikely.

...

While China has become increasing present in the North Korean economic system, Cha overestimates Beijing’s power over Pyongyang for several reasons:

Pyongyang has largely avoided economic reforms to integrate itself into the world trade system. That leave North Korea less vulnerable to outside pressure, even Chinese pressure.

North Korean xenophobia extends to China. Despite claims that the Chinese and North Koreans were as close as “lips and teeth“, Pyongyang has always seen its partnership with Beijing as one of necessity rather than friendship. Kim Jong-un’s grandfather, Kim Il-sung, nearly lost the 1950-1953 war against South Korea and United Nations forces because he resisted Mao Zedong’s repeated offers to enter the war because of fear of Chinese dominance, relenting only when it because obvious that MacArthur’s forces would not stop until they reached the Amnok (Yalu) River. After the war, the elder Kim made a point of trying to keep equidistant relations between Beijing and Moscow.

North Korean fear of Chinese dominance runs deep. North Korea draws a historical connection(PDF) to the ancient kingdom of Goguryeo (37 BC to 668 AD), one of the “three kingdoms” of ancient Korean history. Goguryeo’s major claim to fame is its defeat of successive Chinese invasions. Perhaps Goguryeo’s most famous figure is Eulji Mundeok, a general credited with probably killing more Chinese than anyone in history except Mao. The Goguryeo connection to North Korean ideology points to resistance to foreign dominance in general but resistance to Chinese dominance in particular.

The North Koreans are adept at weeding out potential fifth columnists in their ranks. Kim Il-sung purged both the pro-Chinese and pro-Soviet factions within the government in the 1950s. There have been periodic purges since then to weed out people who might not loyally follow the Kim dynasty. There is little reason to believe that Kim Jong-un and his inner circle would be any less willing to purge officials whom they believe to be insufficiently loyal. That would make it much more difficult for Beijing to be able to use a faction of the North Korean government to achieve dominance.

North Korea will likely remain a tarbaby for Beijing; something it does not like but which it cannot get rid of.
Being pro-China is a crime whose punishment is either death or the life in prison-camp in North Korea. There is no one to invite PLA from Pyongyang because they are all dead.

Thats pretty arrogant, militant and aggresive claims..........
even US does not claim it will take iran in 7 days

Thats pretty arrogant, militant and aggresive claims..........
It shows how PLA officers are poorly trained and ignorant of the real world, so you Indians have nothing to worry about. The PLA will show their inexperience in real combat.

There was once a military exchange in which JMSDF officers were allowed to board and tour PLA destroyers. JMSDF officers reported back that those PLA destroyers were designed and constructed by people who never fought a real naval war, since the warship was full of fire hazards and no damage control capability.

Learn to read.

It's not going to be a war or even a fight. This is just a contingency in case the North Korean regime collapses. China and North Korea are allies.

Then the ROK and US fighter jets would be patrolling around Yellow Sea, so good luck trying to go through that. The US-ROK actually have a war plan for the Kim Regime collapse to take control of North Korea and drills in accordance with the manual each year. Does China have one?

the latter two are allies.
North Korea doesn't think so.

Hahaha, wet dreams of taking North Korea.

You couldn't even do that back in the 1950's Korean war, when it was China against the USA + 16 of her allies combined.

Now, North Korea has nuclear weapons. Half of South Korea's population lives in Seoul, the North Koreans are holding your entire country by a thread.

Which will be seized during the opening hours of the operation to seize control of North Korea.

North Korean nukes are useless because they cannot be transported by air(too heavy at 5 tons), stored near the China border, and are under 24-hour surveillance. Heck, China could get a hold of them first if they wanted to.

North Korea doesn't think so.

LOL, you keep peddling this dream that doesn't even make sense.

This is from your master's own mouth, from the US Department of State website.

US Department of State - North Korea

North Korea’s closest allies are China and Russia.

It maintains limited relations with other nations and has NO official, diplomatic ties with South Korea, the United States, and Japan.

They don't even have diplomatic ties with SK and the US.

I find it best to not talk too much to Koreans, it is not worth our time to educate them. If they touch the high voltage wire, let them get burned.
