The chicken meat prices have gone up by Rs 40 per kilogram from Rs 130 to Rs 171 in three days due to increased demand in the on-going marriage season and Christmas festivities.

Secretary Poultry Market Committee Javed Bokhari told Business Recorder here on Wednesday that broiler whole sales rate on 21st December was Rs 112, retail Rs 118, and meat Rs 171 per kilogram, eggs Rs 2910 per crate of 30 dozen, retail Rs 99 per dozen.

Former President Pakistan Poultry Association (PPA) and a prominent exporter of chicken meat Abdul Basit said that the poultry farmers had been selling chicken at a loss of Rs 50 per kg against their cost of production of Rs 180 per kg.

Please note Population increases at a much faster rate than can be recorded, and i didn't read full article didn't see the time limit of 1 day. The point i was making is.. this on the long run will get worse.. unless food production increases. If Food production remains the same.. and.. population continues to increase regardless of time span prices will go up :toast_sign:

Dubai is not an agricultural country, they import everything. In Pk we produce those things. This is case of bad capitalism / hoarding and black marketing

Fresh Chicken in Dubai is twice that price per kg.

Frozen Chicken is also slightly more than that price per kg.

in India fresh chiken is priced Rs. 120/-(INR) per Kg.

Sorry, Your calculation is wrong here. In just 1 day population has not increased by 20%.

If you read the article, it says, "due to high demand the prices went north."

^^
No thanks. Even if she was going to perform special stuff on me I wouldn't even consider going vegetarian. Chicken is like a piece of heaven. I can't imagine life without.
