initial version's max thrust is around 15t... it is a break through to China's turbofan tech, but surely only 17T or over can satisfy fans of the virtual world````

WS-10C reportedly has 14.5 tons of thrust. If WS-15 only had 15 tons, then they wouldn't have to start over with the design around 2006.

One may reach maturity level, while the other is just beginning its journey with some new technology that is probably different but potentially capable of meeting future requirements.
