Capitalism & poverty in the U.S.

Linux sucks bro :P

The C language has gone through many development stages, including the drive toward object oriented concepts.

And Finland also follow a free market economy.

In a absolute free market economy, government's work is only "tax collection, and enforcement of private ownership and contracts". I dont want to go into the kind of social security schemes Finland and other Scandinavian countries have as im sure you guys know it already.:azn:

Care to explain what the author of your article was trying to say? As i have obviously failed to understand his point.

The misplaced anger at 'the rich' and the (mostly) unjustified demonization of the same. In my neighborhood, I live within walking distance of two genuine millionaires, as in each has asset of combined cash, business income, and assorted investments totaling over 1 million US dollars, and yet each family buy used cars, albeit nice ones, but used nonetheless. Their houses are better than others, but then a house is as close to our bodies as our clothes so there is nothing wrong with having a nice house on a larger than average lot -- if one could afford it. Their children go to public schools and state university.

In the US, those who worked more than 12hrs a day, six days a week, for years to make their millionaire status are usually NOT recognized as such when they go down the streets. It is the deliberately false focus by critics of capitalism on the very few whose egos compelled them to display their wealth extravagantly via designer clothes, exotic autos, and 'flashy' jewelry that ended up demonizing 'the rich'.

Well i guess this debate has come to this point due to me misunderstanding your post and vice versa as my original post had nothing to do with people who worked their lives to become millionaires. But on the other hand when people bash capitalism on grounds of inequality they are not reffering to millionaires who made their money working hard their whole lives, they are referrering to multi billionaires who have the power to influence government policy to their favour and make their money abusing this power. :enjoy:

Lol zabanya its not about RMG tycoons being illiterate. Its about Salman F Rahman getting away with all his kung fu at the stock market without even a scratch... that is essentially "looting". Anyway, lets not delve further offtopic. :D

God, how I hate that man

It's mainly due to lack of regulation in the BD stock market. Sure it wasn't illegal, but it was unethical. Perhaps that's what partly happened in the US

There is no 'perhaps' about it. The unethical business practices of the few, small and large in 'the rich' group, and governmental corruption with these few, contributed to the current economic mess in the US.

There are many ways to become a member of 'the rich'. I can toil legitimately for years, or I can inherit wealth, or I can win the Idaho Powerball Lottery, or I can sell illegal drugs. So when these critics of capitalism demonize 'the rich', who are their specific target in this group, for certainly if I want to be a member of 'the rich' selling illegal drugs, I would still have to work hard at it and the competition is literally much more a 'killer' than between Lowe's and Home Depot vying for business among homeowners.

The defense is not so much about and for 'the rich' as it is about the principles and system of economics that will enable ANYBODY (not everybody) to be a member of 'the rich'. Walter E Williams' commentary is right on the money. He and LeBron James are blacks but would basketball fans pay to see him play? There is an existing wealth disparity or 'inequality' between the two men but would these critics condemn LeBron James for being the wealthier by exploiting his 'God-given' athletic gifts?

So psl tell them to stop robbing people tax , they're so rich already ,or poor people will united and kill them like what they did to Colonel Gadaffi

in your view, they're working , in another people view they're Robbing from poor people and from some nations like Iraq , Libya etc...

Capitalism is a necessary evil. It has its benefits and it has its losses. The numbers of rich and the poor keep changing.

An interesting picture

Style over substance perhaps.
