I have a similar question, why not move Indian capital to Mumbai or Bangalore. Northern India is too poor.

Yes, political capital should always be in the north. Shanghai and Pearl River Delta are the financial capitals.Beijing is fine as it is. Maybe a spiritual/cultural capital in Xian. I would agree south cannot have the capital, concentration of money & power in one region is too much temptation, besides, having the captial higher up in the north looks better on the map.![]()
Gujarat? I think Delhi is the worst place. Southern India is the best.Indian capital today is effectively in Gujarat already.
Also as for naval threat, even Beijing is very near to the sea. And remember, for many years, the main problem was with the Soviet Union.
You can then check Kunming, or Chongqing.
I think capital should be moved around, because Chinese dynasties often break due to regional frictions. Such frictions will be avoided with capital change. I would say Guangzhou should be preferred choice. I am of course assuming that China will have reasonable military force by 2049.
Frankly speaking, my mandarin is crap. But I have no issue of Beijing being the perennial capital.Dude, r u kidding? why don't your Indians just rotate your capital periodically? Or do you see any country with some history periodically changing their Capital? Is there anyone? Absolutely NO, right? As a united gigantic empire with a long long history, the number of cities that were served as the Empire Capital was much less than the number of China Dynasties, and Beijing was one of these cities. Moreover, Beijing was not only an ancient empire capital compared to her peer cities, she has been the capital in the past 800 hundred yrs most of time, and experiencing most of historical moments in the process of China's transformation from traditional to modern society, in which the memory of Beijing has imprinted into ordinary Chinese people's brains. Her spoken language is the base of official modern Chinese language, her icons are almost equal to China icons, such as Tiananmen, Great Wall, Forbidden City...Her education, science, technology, literature, arts, cinema, drama, music....have significant influence on modern China. So when you talk about capital rotation in China, you'd better ask the same question to France, UK, Germany, Italy, Greece...You will probably get the same answer.
Purely political capital won't be developed. Beijing is attractive for many people because she is the base of many POEs and SOEs, and also the centre of education and science. It's more sensible to move the headquarter of some enterprises and universities to other regional centres. Moving the central government elsewhere is nonsense.Or maybe we can have more than one capitals, just like south Africa? For example,I want we set up one capital in Xinjiang(such as Urumqi),you know one city becomes the capital, the city can be developed, the people will move in.And have a capital in southwest city, such as Chongqing?

Where is my little emperor YunWen.OHO..He would be crying for your having ignored him.True, capitals in the south, like Hangzhou and Nanjing where life is so easy and colourful. The second emperor of Ming moved the capital from Nanjing to Beijing.
1000 years ago ... China's captial ever located in ChangAn city (Shan Xi province ) of North-West China in Tang Dynasty.
800 years ago ... China's captial ever located in KaiFeng city (He Nan province) of Middle China in Song Dynasty.
Just recent 500 years ... China's captial moved to BeiJing city of North China or NanJing city of South China.
I think it's a traditional custom that strong Chinese government located the captial in North China like BeiJing, only weak Chinese government's captial in NanJing of South China when they facing foreign threats from the North.
BeiJing as 500-year old captial during Ming Dynasty/ Yuan Dynasty/ Qing Dynasty ... it's a good place for PRC, NanJing as former captial for KMT's ROC government ... it's obvious CPC didn't choose it.
He is Indian Chinese.@Bussard Ramjet I guess you are a false flagger, you're not an Indian, you are actually a Chinese instead.
