The new Defence Minister is probably the most capable minister in the Government next to the Prime Minister himself.

He is an IIT'ian and was the Chief Minister of Goa before this. He was brought in specifically from Goa, because of the mess in the Defense sector. Nobody takes a sitting Chief Minister away unless its an absolute necessity, BJP lost its star in Goa because of this move.

The entire MoD and Armed Forces will be majorly overhauled with structural changes in the next 5 years, not to mention the private industry which has already started being encouraged by the DM.
