Can PTI be Finished?

The state machinery is in full swing to make it look like PTI has already lost. Best is to keep patience. A battle lost doesn’t mean the war is lost.

Wise words. And if you think about how strong PTI was after April 2022, then the 'patience' word you used was needed. But, alas, resigning from the NA when PTI was only a few seats short of this discredited govt. who would be facing huge challenges, dissolving the two Prov. Assemblies where PTI was in power, picking a fight with the Establishment of Pakistan, jeopardizing Pakistan's vital commercial interests by blaming America for the 'regime change'...

What was the rush for?? Imran is only in his early 70s and is a fit, athletic guy. He could have easily waited some months or a few years. Had he paid attention to the history of Pakistan then he would have seen how fickle not only the politicians are but also the Establishment: They have all switched sides frequently.

As to the OP, yes, indeed, PTI under Imran Khan can and probably will be finished. It was a cult built around a personality with no clear 'heir' in sight. There is a reason 'dynastic politics' in Pakistan is alive: That's the only way to preserve political parties. It is a sad truth! One day it must be broken but it will be only broken organically.

Your argument regarding dissolving assemblies cut both ways.

Post dissolution of assemblies, elections are supposed to held within 90 days. That’s written unequivocally in the constitution. That is what the SC said.

But elections did not take place. Is that not high treason by the PDM, the punishment of which is jail terms for the leaders. An argument can be made that PTI underestimated the degree to which Pakistan is a banana republic.

PTI is an alternative to dynastic politics. So what if there is no heir. I think its better as no group will usurp the whole party when the leader fades away. The democratic process within the party will gradually weed away the bad ones.

PTI has been blamed for being a 1 seat party, mummy daddy party, burger party, made fun of their tsunami or sehat card programs, or focusing too much on pana gaah and now in direct confrontation with PDM and Establishment. They will stumble but they will come out of this. There is a first for every thing. If they don’t then someone else will. The people have woken up to the ilk that holds Pakistan back.

PTI is not a political ideology, its vision of Pakistan as it was originally meant to be. How can nations vision die?

You are correct in your post on all except this part:
"They will stumble but they will come out of this."

No. You can't make so many mistakes and 'come out of this'. This is Pakistan we are talking about. Imran is still indulging in fantasies like I can name a Khamba (a light post) and people would vote for that. Utterly stupid! When the Establishment of Pakistan decisively moves against someone, then days are numbered.

Imran's only 'contribution' history will remember is raising awareness about the Establishment of Pakistan. That he would be thanked for. I already thank him for that. But, without a viable alternative, removing the Esablishment will be very dangerous for Pakistan and that's the point Asad Umer tried to make in his exit speech from PTI. But history will also remember that Imran only took on the Establishment to get back to power.

I don't know how many times I have repeated these things here.

From a political science perspective, it is more accurate to categorize PTI, Pakistan's largest political party that unites people across regional, ethnic, sectarian, gender, and age groups, as a mass movement rather than a cult. You have to distinguish between the strong personality cult surrounding IK, as observed with many other politicians and celebrities as well, and the broader support base of the PTI. Characterizing all PTI members and supporters (i.e. the majority of Pakistanis) as cultists is an oversimplification and a disingenuous attempt to undermine IK's popularity.

why protect Americans when they were conspiring against Pak gov openly. They've chosen this path with Army and both are paying price. Its not Imran Khan or Pakistan's fault nor Pakistan initiated it.

They'll pay who have instigated unrest.
