Border Security Force (BSF) of India shot dead a Bangladeshi cattle trader on Baikari border in Satkhira Sadar upazila early Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Rahmat Ali, 35, son of Yunus Ali Mollah of Banshdah village in the upazila, reports our Satkhira correspondent.

Locals said BSF of Joynagar camp opened fire when some traders, including Rahmat, were returning from India crossing the border.

Rahmat was hit by bullet and died on the spot, the sources said.

Contacted, Lt Col Enayet, commanding officer of 41 battalion of Border Guards Bangladesh, confirmed the killing.

Why BSF kills only on The Daily Star :: Online Edition and not in some other Bangladeshi Newspaper.

Locals said BSF of Joynagar camp opened fire when some traders, including Rahmat, were returning from India crossing the border.

bsf should had greeted them with garlands and vodka.

BSF didn't allow, they sneaked in,while going back he was shot down....

I hope bangladeshi's will stop tresspassing and illegal immigration should be stopped...wat the hell is BGB doing>????

Is it because they are with the cattle hence slow moving target and cant sneak back to bangladesh. How will cattle jump the fence. All confusing.
