Border Security Force (BSF) of India shot dead a Bangladeshi cattle trader on Baikari border in Satkhira Sadar upazila early Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Rahmat Ali, 35, son of Yunus Ali Mollah of Banshdah village in the upazila, reports our Satkhira correspondent.
Locals said BSF of Joynagar camp opened fire when some traders, including Rahmat, were returning from India crossing the border.
Rahmat was hit by bullet and died on the spot, the sources said.
Contacted, Lt Col Enayet, commanding officer of 41 battalion of Border Guards Bangladesh, confirmed the killing.
