গত ১৭ই অক্টোবর, ভারতের সীমান্তরেখা অতিক্রম করে কয়েকজন জেলে বাংলাদেশের সীমানায় প্রবেশ করে। তারা চারঘাটের ভেতরে পদ্মানদীতে প্রবেশ করে ইলিশ মাছ শিকার করতে থাকে। ওই সময় বাংলাদেশের আইন অনুযায়ী নদীতে মা ইলিশ রক্ষায় ইলিশ শিকারের বিরুদ্ধে ভ্রাম্যমান আদালদের অভিযান চলছিলো। মা ইলিশ শিকারের সময় ভ্রাম্যমান আদালত চার জেলেকে আটক করে। এ সময়, ভারতীয় সীমান্তরক্ষী বাহিনী বিএসএফ সদস্যরা এসে তিন জেলেকে ছিনিয়ে নেয়। অপর জেলে প্রণব মণ্ডলকে ছিনিয়ে নেয়ার জন্য বিএসএফ সদস্যরা বিজিবিকে লক্ষ্য করে গুলি চালায়। এ সময়, বিজিবি পাল্টা গুলি চালালে বিএসএফ এর সদস্য বিজয় ভান সিং নিহত এবং আহত হন আরেক বিএসএফ সদস্য রাজবীর সিং।

এরপর, রাজশাহী বিজিবির অধিনায়ক লে. কর্ণেল ফেরদৌস জিয়াউদ্দীন মাহমুদ সংবাদ সম্মেলন করে প্রকৃত ঘটনা তুলে ধরলে বিভিন্ন মিডিয়ায় তার বক্তব্যের ভিডিও প্রচার এবং ভারাইল হতে থাকে। এরপর, অনেকেই তাকে ‘জাতীয় বীর’ হিসেবে উল্লেখ করতে থাকেন। এর ফলে, অনলাইনে অত্যান্ত বেশি পরিচিতি পান বিজিবি অধিনায়ক ফেরদৌস জিয়া উদ্দীন মাহমুদ। সেই ভিডিওতে তার একটি বক্তব্য ছিলো ‘আমরা ডেকে নিয়ে এসে কাছে আনার পর গুলি করে তাদের মেরে ফেলবো-একটা বাহিনীর সঙ্গে সম্পর্ক অবনতি করবো, এমনটা হতে পারেনা। আমরা তাদের বলেছি, জাতিগতভাবে আমরা মদ্যপ নই এবং আমরা মানসিকভাবেও সবাই সুস্থ। একটা বাহিনীর সঙ্গে সম্পর্ক অবনত করার মত কোন ঘটনাও ঘটেনি।’ তার এই বক্তব্যটি দেশের অনলাইন সক্রিয়রা ব্যাপকভাবে ভাইরাল করে।

ফেসবুকের সেই জাতীয় বীরকে নিয়েই এবার নতুন করে ফেসবুক ব্যবহারকারীরা অপপ্রচারে নেমেছেন। সেই বিজিবি অধিনায়ক লেফটেন্যান্ট কর্ণেল জিয়াউদ্দীন মাহমুদকে বরখাস্ত করা হয়েছে বলে দেশের তরুণ প্রজন্মের মানুষের ফেসবুক জুড়ে প্রচার হচ্ছে। এমন অপপ্রচারে অত্যন্ত বিরক্ত এবং কষ্ট পাচ্ছেন তিনি।

Its good to know that he is ok. However the news link that you have shared mentioned about the fake news that some people are circulating with his image that he has been court martialed not regarding the news that Indian media has published.

Indian media has mentioned that the Havildar who open fired is in the process of court martialed and other mentioned officials are transferred. Please see below:

The BGB told us that its Sector Commander, in DIG rank, of the area and the commandant of the BGB battalion no 1 were transferred. A court-martial proceedings have been started against the Havildar who had opened the fire. He has been attached already.

It appears the Indian media and DIG was quoting everything from BSF's perspective. You need to find equivalent terms for BGB. I hae just checked and have found that court martial exists at BSF. I do not know what is equialent punishment at BGB.

You need to understand few things.

1. After the BSF jawan died, India needs to save face. They couldn't do anything after the incident and hence after a brief delay, brought it up when everyone almost forgot it. This clearly indicates desperation.

2. There is no DIG rank in BGB. Enough said. Shows how credible the news is.

3. Who told them that the havildar was court marshalled? BGB officials? Do you really think that BGB will tell them that the Havildar is a hero? I doubt anyone opened their mouth but even if they did, was just to please desperate Indians, and BSF made hay and danced in joy.

4. Do you think a Havildar will shoot at the border without their superior's permission? You do realize how hierarchy works in BD. What makes you logically think that a poor Havildar got "court-marshalled" but his commanding officer is still sitting in his office?

5. Has there been any news in any of our media? Nada, nothing. This will explode in the media if it happens because this shooting incident was religiously captured by the media.
