Brotherly relations between Turkey-Pakistan are time tested: Turkish PM

they debated this in couple of forums actually.. you got the link right

Yeah got it, thanks. It is interesting. But I still think that there is some affection from the Turkish side too. It's not like their relationship with China which is limited to the governments and essentially a strictly business relationship.

I was in Turkey recently and I was overwhelmed by the sentiment Turks showed when I told them I m from Pakistan. I felt I was in my home although I was there for the first time.

Who divided it? When was it united? Shia-Sunni conflict is as old as Islam itself, it started from the days of Abu Bakr and Imam Ali.

LOL even Abu Bakr RA and Ali RA never wanted to divide the Muslim nation, Ali RA actually executed the first people who ever called themselves Shia for going over the top and trying to deify him. The split actually only occurred when the safavid dynasty converted all of Iran to Shia Islam by force before that there were multiple sultanates all over the Islamic world but all acknowledged the Caliph as the united sovereign.

this brotherly love is one sided from what it seems...majority turks don't care about Pakistan and view it as backward country

Replace Turkey with China most common Chinese have no clue about Pakistan, it is mainly a government thing with Pakistan government being the only side acting all over the top for no reason.

Are you a Turk, ever been to Turkiye, ever asked a Turk about Pakistan?
You shouldnt comment on things you know nothing about.
Show your flags,so we can see where you are from.

I posted this because in a Turkish forum they were debating about this one sided brotherliness and why Pakistanis always refer to them as brothers.

Turks and Pakistanis have bondness which was formed against British colonialism. Two nations have trade agreements, military agreements still going on. Younger generations may forget or not learn such things, but older like me know this bondness very well.

Only nation which is closer to us is perhaps Azerbaijanis. Turks and Azerbaijanis are kinsmen and fought together against common foes.

Secularism and European wannabism changed some parts of Turkish society, I accept. There are people who bow to European culture and despise everything Muslim. But thats not directed at Pakistan, but rather at whole Muslim community.

As I said, these people are only some people, not whole Turkish nation.
