Can you give any reasons why they are like this?British Pakistanis are a waste of life and super embarrassing.
its called integrationThey adopt to western lifestyle. Forget language. Eat pork. A lot of them even drink alcohol. They dress proactively and use many bad words when they speak. It seems like they transform to pigs. In US there might be a few Pakistanis that tend to act white and change their culture, but overall I feel like US Pakistanis are closer to the nation and religion.

@Saif al-Arab
I'd like to mention you. Don't think I'm going to forget you boy.
Regarding religion:
Pakistanis in US don't eat any meat that is not halal. We will avoid fast food and places that are not halal certified. When it comes to Arabs from any country, they will eat anything as long as it is not pork. This is something I've noticed. Pakistanis are very vigilant about eating haram, but Arabs that live in US are very lax. My Arab friends will eat Mcdonalds burger beef, while I do not. I wonder why that is. It seems Arab people are very liberal in their Islam when it comes to halal or haram meat. They just don't eat pig.

its called integration
Correct me if I am not wrong bro but around half of the 3.5 million Arabs in the US or so, are Christian. That might be the reason. Also it is a general trend for the diaspora to be more lax. I think that the foreign students from the Arab world (mostly GCC but not only) are more like back home. At least I was.
BTW I just thanked your posts because I want to see a bit of firework in this thread.
But if British Pakistanis are anything close to British Arabs it is save to say that they are a mixed bunch.
Integration and assimilation is not the same thing. What our friend described sounds more like complete assimilation. I don't think that this should be the goal for any person unless they want to lose their own culture. A healthy mixture is the best solution and I have witnessed that a lot in person. I know a couple of people (Arabs and non-Arabs) born in the West who when they were younger were embarrassed when their parents spoke to them in their native tongues in public and they tended not to speak much in their native tongues when they reached the age of teenagers. Now when older they regret this as their Arabic, Urdu etc. is not as good as it could have been. Some due to such behavior never really learn their parents native tongue (and their own) (worst case scenario) and when they become parents they regret it as they cannot give this language to their newborns. That's a bad thing IMO.

Bro, I'm talking about US Arabs I meet at mosque. Super religious, but they have no problem eating at fast food places where meat is not halal. Pakistanis are different. Our parents are like, If you eat something that is not halal, you are disowned. Or If you drink alcohol.![]()
Same story here bro. Such behavior is frowned upon by the average Muslim Arab family. Those type of Arabs (Muslims as a whole) are probably those that cannot live a day without eating unhealthy food (fast food, sweets) etc. They don't realize what they are doing due to their greedy stomach. If it was up to me, I would ban all fast food stores in the GCC, Arab world and even entire Muslim world. It's a tragedy overall (IMO) what this fast food (ever since it appeared big time in the early 1990's) did to many people in terms of them becoming overweight and suffering from many obesity related diseases. I hate it and I have not visited a fast food store since I was 10 or 11 years old. I take pride in that, lol.
Anyway I have heard from some Pakistani friends in person that a large percentage of British Pakistanis are more conservative than the average Pakistani back home. I find that hard to believe. Is something like that possible among US Pakistanis? I would have believed that you guys were more lax it being the US and all. Especially post 9/11.

I concur. I used to hang out with few arabs back in college days. They seems to be less in Islam and more in American popular culture. These nutcase even pick a English nick name, wallahi...
@Saif al-Arab

The one that has a extremely cute niece. Reema I think is her name.
Wine and pork? We Pakistanis are eating dead cows, donkeys, dogs, crows and everything butchers can find and sale in the name of Halal here in Pakistan. Wine? In Pakistan, there is no Halal control department, and if there is any, its all corruption. You can sale people pig biryani with the tag "Bakra biryani".Forget language. Eat pork. A lot of them even drink alcohol. They dress proactively and use many bad words when they speak. It seems like they transform to pigs.
How do you know, have you ever went to the UK and investigated it for yourself?They adopt to western lifestyle. Forget language. Eat pork. A lot of them even drink alcohol. Calling out for my bro @Falcon29 to clear this confusion.
I only studied in the US for some time so I am not an authority on how Arab Americans behave as I have only engaged with a few of them while studying in the US. But honestly (no bias here) I would be surprised to hear that they are (on average) much different to the average Muslim American. You will have a few bad apples (depending on your world view) and then the average Ali, Muhammad, Abdullah, Ibrahim etc. doing his thing. I might be wrong here but that was at least the impression I got when in the US.
