Thursday, November 03, 2011 – According to local officials in western Afghanistan, at least three Afghan national army service members were killed following a roadside bomb blast in western Herat province on Wednesday.

The officials further added, at least one Afghan intelligence agency (NDS) member was also killed following the incident.

The incident took place in Chesht district of western Herat province while the vehicle of Afghan security forces were crossing from the area and struck with a roadside bomb which was already planted by the militants.

Chesht district is among the unsafe areas in western Herat province, where the Taliban militants are actively operating in the area and frequently carry out insurgency attacks against the Afghan and coalition forces.

No group including the Taliban militants have so far claimed responsibility behind today’s incident.

Afghan security officials Taliban militants for carrying out such attacks using Improvised Explosive Device as their weapon of choice to target Afghan and coalition forces.

why you open separate threads for the blast in a-stan??on the other hand,you give lecture if same happens in pakistan.

There is a separate section for 'acts of terrorism in Pakistan', but there isn't for Afghanistan.

RIP to the dead soldiers. Let's pray that the foreign forces leave soon, & peace prevails in Afghanistan. As long as the foreign troops are in Afghanistan, there can be no peace in that country.
