Thursday, November 03, 2011 According to local officials in western Afghanistan, at least three Afghan national army service members were killed following a roadside bomb blast in western Herat province on Wednesday.
The officials further added, at least one Afghan intelligence agency (NDS) member was also killed following the incident.
The incident took place in Chesht district of western Herat province while the vehicle of Afghan security forces were crossing from the area and struck with a roadside bomb which was already planted by the militants.
Chesht district is among the unsafe areas in western Herat province, where the Taliban militants are actively operating in the area and frequently carry out insurgency attacks against the Afghan and coalition forces.
No group including the Taliban militants have so far claimed responsibility behind todays incident.
