BMRL Smerch on Indian Tatra

Picture of the much vaunted Smerch BMRL from Russia but on a TAT supplied carrier from India

There 2 regiments of 36 in service as we speak.

And 2 more regiments to be deployed by 2011 - 72 in total. The can hit targets 100km away and aturate 2 sq km in one salvo

The pinka is the smaller indengious indian MBRL but this range is limited to 40km,

But india has 10 regiments and 180 pinks in service

they cost a fifth of the bigger rusian supplied smerch

No, India only produces the trucks and TELs that carry the system. The system itself is built in Russia.

India produces it own indigenous MBRL system, Pinaka.

I believe it is the Chinese copy of the Smerch, the A-100 MLRS.

I couldn't find any info on how many units Pakistan has.

A-100 MRLs latest varient the AR1A ...The long rumored A-100 300mm MRL system to Pakistan was confirmed during the recent Azm-e-Nau-3 exercise.

Wiki claim the initial number to be 92......... But Pakistan is manufacturing it with full TOT.And also raising more units almost 14 or more thts more then 200 +units.

And apologies... its range is 120 KM

Its not a copy of smerch(range 90 KM).... it(AR1A) has more range(120 km) more accuracy 33&#37; more strike accuracy and its Rockets are not similiar to smerch........... nor it can use smerchs ammo.
