A BJP MLA allegedly attacked a policeconstableafter the latter stopped marriage revellers from playing loud music in Mangalhat area here in the wee hours on Saturday, police said.

Following the incident, police have registered a case against T Raja Singh, who represents Goshamahal constituency in the city, for allegedly assaulting and abusing the constable, a senior police officer said.

The incident occurred at around 2 AM when a Disk Jockey (DJ) was playing loud music during the marriage procession without prior permission of police, following which some locals informed police about it.

When the constable, identified as Shekhar, reached the spot and stopped music by cutting a wire, the organisers indulged in heated arguments with Shekhar and meanwhile called up the MLA, who stays in the area, from his house.

After reaching the spot, the MLA allegedly "attacked" the constable by pushing him aside while abusing and threatening him with dire consequences.

The entire act of attacking and shoving the constable was caught on camera and police have collected the footage, DCP (West Zone) A. Venkateshwera Rao told PTI.

He said police have sufficient evidence to arrest the MLA.

Based on the complaint lodged by the constable, a case was booked against Raja Singh under sections 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), the DCP said.

"We will serve a notice to the MLA and he will be questioned in connection with the incident," the DCP said.

However, the MLA said he intervened in the matter only after some women, who were part of the marriage party, complained to him that the constable had misbehaved with them.

"The constable was drunk...I just questioned him about the matter," the MLA said, adding that the women have also lodged a complaint against the constable with Mangalhat police

While they only protest during Hindu festivals or processions.

Mate,i do have to admit that Mr.Raja Singh is really one bada$$ politician!!He is the only man who can keep a tab on those two rabid dogs aka the Owaisi brothers!!This man surely has got some balls to openly challenge the Owaisis in their own backyard.We need more bada$$es like him in the BJP in order to check those jehadi mullahs!!

LoL do you even understand if it was Owaisi who shoved the cop his name would appear unknown, but since it was Raja Singh a Hindu, They specified Hindu name Shekhar.
We all know their style of reporting.When Muslims get hurt its communalism and Hindus attacked with names and sources.
When Muslims attack Hindus as they seldom do, the news reads, two communities/Parties indulged in a fight etc. etc.
Why this hypocrisy,we are tired of this reporting.If ONLY Hindus are going to be named as culprits for everything, then why not embrace it? show the newspapers when we do it, there is no one to stop it!
Because it seems to me no matter what Hindus do we are always the culprit in MSM.So yeah, We should become Culprits and show them a dose of reality.
