If you do not have any idea about economics, dont type bs....

Per capita income, in simple words are, GDP/total population...having said that, your genius brain should know that Bhutan has a negligible population in comparison to Bangladesh...so, in NO way can you weigh two countries' economy on the basis of per capita income...it is not a reliable indicator...

Total GDP of Bhutan is $3.789 billion (2008 est.) whereas Bangladesh has $256 billion (2010 est.)...look like 'poor' Bangladesh has 50 times a larger GDP den 'rich' Bhutan...

Finally, unlike your rant...we do not compare our economies...Bhutan is a small nation and we would take pride in helping them out and doing JVs with them...we dont mind, because in our heart, we dont term 'poor' or 'rich' based on figures....

Cheers!!!

BD govt has asked the GoI to give a BD-Pakistan transit route only recently. Moreover, after a SAARC meeting about 6 months ago, MMS also had proposed the same thing. MMS said of a route that would connect Pakistan with BD through a India-Nepal-India.

I do not know if India is backtracking from its original position because of bureaucratic tangling, but a route like this is needed for a total connectivity among all the countries.

By the way, India cannot deny such a route at least under the Asian Highway proposal. BD needs Pakistan for many of its trade with the central asian countries. Specially, we need cotton from Uzbekistan, which will be more expensive if comes via a sea route from Karachi.

However, Pakistan may not give the similar facility to India through its land unless Kashmir issue is resolved. Also, unless BD gets a route to Pakistan, India may not get a transit to NE.

I'm not sure why India wouldn't give BD a transit route to Pakistan, there's no strategic or economic threat of it.

Afghanistan already use a route through Pakistan to export goods to India, although India hasn't been given the same facilities by Pakistan.

As far as I know Pakistan's and BD's garment industry are fierce competitors in international market, only some days ago BD objected some extra benefits given to Pakistan by EU because of the recent flood. Why do you think Pakistan would allow BD to import cotton at cheaper rate through her territory and thus putting her own industry in danger?

that's a lot of talk...business weverywhere in the world is driven by just one value...tactic...policy in mind...which is profit...
charity only comes when you have achieved something...and BD nom....is far from achieving economic parity with India.

Business is business, and certainly it is not charity. But, a relationship with a neighbour cannot only be measured by the volume of trades only. A diplomatic relationship is multi-faceted. In case of Bhutan, a little support from countries like BD or Pakistan gives it an opportunity to breath more freely and takes the country away from the claws of an evil India.

When such is the case, BD may not go after a trade balance in its own favour, and will also give opportunity for that country to do international trade through its land and ports. This will be a real freedom for Bhutan, a country always being bullied by India.

India didn't gave us a10 km transit with nepal in namr of security now how we can expect they will give transit with pakistan though pakistan have gave india and afganistan transit .
if we are given transit we will not just bring cotton bu a;lso other goods from pakistan . competition is just not with pakistan but also with india too i think so its not a big deal .
