Beyond PDF: Proposals

If God forbid we are left with no choice and this website is down.

There will be an update on the following website

There is no guarantee which domain we will use but this particular one was reserved a couple of days ago. There will be an update soon, waiting for clarity about a few matters and waz advised me to wait for few days.

Regular updates will be greatly appreciated!

says the man who treat PDF like his 9-to-5 job. tell me how does it feel to lose the livelihood for your whole family once the site shuts down?

Tell that to the genocide peddlers, I have no interests in keeping up with these changing narrations.

I personally never said the elimination of ouïghour was physical.

I was about to register that domain when it was bought. You got lucky.
My plan was to start on Xenforo cloud with the base package and making the site as close as defence.pk
This is the least troublesome approach with more predictable costs.
Now it looks like other people are doing something similar.
I can still do it if no one else's plan proceeds.

I took a field job for 2 weeks and just came back to civilisation and this happened......

Coming from a Military Intelligence background. Here are my advice.

1.) Making a new forum

I think the important thing is to know what or why or how this forum is being closed (or as much as I can gathered, banned) Then you need to avert the same thing happened before. What layout or which template you use is secondary, what you should concern is to not get into this again. That way you either would be a tool for whoever forcing this forum to shut down or you are going to do this all over again in a few year

On the other hand, you need to have an anonymous group that in charge of the forum, that's how it cannot be influenced. I mean you won't see an actual person that listed as the director of Wikileak, a known management is always prone to be influenced, most of these forum was controlled by a shell entity (usually more than one) and an unknown group that control the shell company that control a shell company that control the website, so when whoever or whatever trying to influence you, they can't because all they can find is the shell entity.

Another issue for equal or even overseas ownership is not going to be enough for the future of that forum, if whoever is after you and they will get to you. The fact that I can pinpoint @Hyde and @waz as the owner of the new forum itself is a bad start, which mean that is the angle I am going with. You need a way for people to contribute anonymously, it's different between a moderator and an administrator, you need to be in the open for the former and you need to be in the shadow in the latter so that you cannot be influenced.

2.) About quality of the forum.

Trolls are ALWAYS going to be a part of internet culture. It's impossible to eliminate trolling, but you can deter it. Strict moderation is a must, on top of that, you need to encourage people for contributing, poster who process knowledge should be valued, and don't make the same mistake this forum made

And finally, as for me, I am not going to be any part of new structure, I wasn't really active on this forum now, and I most likely will not be in the new forum or on any discord, I am 40 something years old, unlike when I first join back in 2012, a lot of circumstance has changed for me, now I am just going to get down with my job (actual job) and get pay to live thru each week :) So good luck on your further adventures.

I will see you when I see you all.
Speaking on behalf of the much abused American community on pdf. I will not contribute my time unless we have an American in the leadership group.
Also, @LeGenD @jhungary @Deino and @siegecrossbow in charge of the military / military aviation sub forum.

Nah man, I am done with forum, I wasn't on that much up here, not going to partake on the new forum.

If you are keen, @LeGenD have my private contact detail, you can ask him and we can keep in touch.

@Hyde @waz

If you needed any counter-intelligence support on your new forum (Yes, I know it sounded serious but after this one going down like this, you can't be more careful about that), let me know, I can be reached at, I will give you a few more pointer on how to make that forum secure

Hello,

Thank you for your valuable input! I appreciate it a lot.

Some of the points you mentioned are already being put into action. After reading your posts, I'll work on implementing the remaining ones.

I've suggested that forum owners don't have to be involved in management. For instance, UserA can financially support the forum without moderating, UserB can manage with time but lacks financial resources, and UserC can contribute both time and investment.

The new forum is already bustling despite having few threads. The support has been overwhelming, with users offering financial backing, members volunteering to fund the entire project, and others ready to transfer data from the old site.

Your point about anonymity is well-taken. Owners won't have a social media presence unless their real identities are unknown.

When adding new members, I'll consider your suggestions. You're always welcome on the new forum, and we'll make sure your profile aligns with your current digital presence on this forum i.e number of posts, join date, thanks and the title etc. We will be adding a team of new moderators soon so I am hoping they will contribute to better organization and higher post quality, minimizing trolling.

I highly admire your offer,

It's just a beginning so it may be looking scratchy but we are blessed with Cyber Security engineers, Web Developers, Programmers and the technical team. So I am hoping it will be fine in the coming months.

Thanks for your offering

As I mentioned, very likely I won't be joining any forum at least for now, as I mentioned I do not have a strong present now as I am working 2 jobs (I took a think tank job in Sydney and another in Washington, so I am splitting my time between the 2, if I am not doing field work)

Anyway, I will keep in mind the new forum and maybe if the world is little quieter and I have more time on my hand once again and I will come to the new forum for a visit, who knows, maybe even then the problem for this forum is solved and we can carry on as usual.

And my offer still stand, and if the situation is what I think it is, then you have governmental level involved, I don't think that's in the realm of something cyber security or programmer that can solved, because you are up against an establishment, most likely an intelligence arm.

I am not offering you my service lol if that is what you think (as in asking you to hire me, as I said, I have 2 jobs already) I am just offering to give you a few free pointer for counter-intelligence purpose, I can go over some point privately with you (I can't make them public for obvious reason) and you can decide whether you want to implement it or not in your new website, that's up to you. But if you want to have a chat on how to not leave any intelligence footprint, as I said, I can be reached with my email.

We'll Gary it's been fun. I learnt a lot from you, I suspect you had the begrudging respect of the trolliest trolls on PDF, non are likely to admit it.
Good luck with your adventures, I am off on a month long sailing trip soon and won't be on PDF.

The internet is available in the desert nowadays. I am sure you will find an hour or two here and there.
