four lakh is a big number and now that BD economy is doing better than Pakistan they should follow Pakistan's example and not send women folks

Since 2015, about four lakh female workers of Bangladesh went to Middle Eastern countries as domestic workers and most of them became victims of sexual abuse and torture.

They make up 90 per cent of the country’s female migrants.

During the same period, about 46,000 other female workers, making up 10 per cent of female migrants from Bangladesh got various jobs other than as housemaids in countries that offered better working conditions, according to the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment.

In 2015, Bangladesh began sending more female workers to Saudi Arabia after Indonesia, Sri Lanka and the Philippines stopped sending their female works to the KSA amid widespread abuses by employers.

In the light of this experience the EWOE Ministry decided to encourage female workers to take more attractive jobs abroad.

EWOE ministry joint secretary for employment Jahangir Alam told New Age that they were trying to gradually scale down sending female domestic workers.

He said that some Bangladeshi female migrants were working abroad as apparel workers and cleaners at hospitals, supermarkets and other institutions.

According to Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training, the largest number of Bangladeshi female migrants returned home as victims of sexual abuse and torture without getting their wages.

A substantial number of Bangladeshi female migrants are working in Jordan, Lebanon, the UAE, Oman and Qatar, the BMET officials said.

On January 24, the EWOE ministry at a meeting reviewed the state of implementation of the prime minister’s directives to it and her polls pledges.

The prime minister asked the EWOE Ministry to boost female migration after providing them skill by extending the tenures of training.

Officials told the meeting that 37 technical training centres provided six-month durations’ training on garment trade to female workers.

In addition, Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Mohila Technical Training Centre provided 480 hours’ housekeeping training to 30 female workers in collaboration with City and Guilds, they told the meeting.

Migrant rights activists urged the government of Bangladesh to send female migrants for jobs other than as domestic helps.

WARBE Development Foundation chairman Syed Saiful Haque said that would never be possible to protect the female workers at employers homes abroad.

He called for exploring the East Asian countries’ job market for female workers.
Ovibashi Karmi Unnayan Programme chairman Shakirul Islam said that the government should evaluate the female migrants for taking the next step.

He also said that the state should set aside sufficient funds for grooming skilled female workers.

Very sad, what are you Bang bro's doing?

Bold Part: Where did you get this small piece of information that the Japanese accept ASEAN or any other domestic helpers? Japanese housewives, poor and rich, do all the household works with her own two hands. Japanese have developed a culture that they feel no inferiority complex in doing menial works. No one in Japan looks down upon anyone doing menial works even its PM.

Workers of all sort are brought into Japan under the controversial "trainee” program which is rife with sexual abuse. I already posted the video links in my previous comment.

Why do you have so many excuses for the barbaric traditions included in the religion? Stop talking about your love for the old-time Arab culture, traditions, and customs as the ABSOLUTE part of a religion. Yes, this is how the Arabic Islam allowed collecting booties in other people's women, slave, and gold after killing the men. I ask should still these customs remain in the religion. No wonder, ISIS, Taliban or Boka Haram groups are born out of barbaric Islamic formula.

Now, find out from the history who gave birth to a son named Ibrahim, who was the father and who was the unlucky enslaved woman? Was this slave woman married to the father of her child? Now, I hope the excerpt below will make you happy by knowing how the ISIS is following the barbaric 14th-century Islamic formula in the 21st century:

"ISIS sanctions rape and physical abuse for girls as young as nine years old. Some survivors report that women are gang-raped and subjected to gruesome punishments including beatings, and being forced to watch militants rape friends and family".

Sexual violence and forced labour during wartime is nothing new. Japan has a troubling history of wartime sexual violence that spans more than a few countries from China, Korea, Burma to Philippines. Rape of Nanjing and the practice of keeping comfort women are all well known. Even with all this, wartime sexual violence is not unique to Japan. We can talk about Pakistan in 71, Indonesia in 75 and USA in WWII committing rapes during wartime. There are documented cases of young girls getting raped who hadn't even menstruated yet against all these countries.

Whatever Japan had about sexual oppression before does not exist anymore. Today, if there are such cases there are also people in Japan to oppose these. There are criminal Courts where a victim can sue the oppressor quite different from a Muslim country led by SA.

The Japanese also do not claim sexual oppression is sanctioned by Allah. This is what you the Muslim guys have been claiming for the last 1500 years. Why do you equate both at the same level? Think what the Muslims did even in 1971 instead of finding past faults of Japanese hundred years ago many of which are political propaganda by Korea and China.

BD men DON'T work ??
I can't remember exactly but in a thread a Pakistani fella claimed that he visited Bangladesh several times and he saw that lots of ( perhaps he tried to say he met majority of Bangladeshi man and then draw such conclusion!) lazy men with working capabilities do not work but their wives works and they ( those lazy men) day and night drink ( with wife's income )and beat their wives. Probably this is the proof that he met 160 million Bangladesh and asked every individual!

I was surprised by the depth of his knowledge, and power of analysis and roaming person to person and asking information! I am amazed that our non Bangladeshi fellas knows about Bangladesh more than we know and we will ever know!

Thinking of staring a school named, " know thyself" and will appoint our non Bangladeshi (specially Pakistani) friends, so that we can learn about our own country from them!!

Are you speaking on behalf of women in Japan now?

Ignored, humiliated: How Japan is accused of failing survivors of sexual abuse

Her alleged attacker denied the attack. He was never arrested and the case was dropped -- Ito says prosecutors cited lack of evidence, despite what she says is security camera footage of her being dragged from a taxi to the hotel, witness statements testifying to her being unconscious, and DNA from her underwear that matched her alleged attacker.

The disgusting thing that's happening to women reporting sexual abuse in Japan

Online comments accused Rika Shiiki of lying and being a publicity hound when she tweeted that she lost business contracts after refusing to have sex with clients. Some said that by agreeing to dine with a man, she led him on.

Many online comments criticised her for speaking out, looking too seductive and ruining the life of a prominent figure. Some women called her an embarrassment, she told The Associated Press.

In a patriarchal society where women have long taken the blame, many victims try to forget attacks and harassment instead of seeking support and justice, said Mari Miura, a political science professor at Sophia University in Tokyo.

Japan's not-so-secret shame

Over 95 percent of incidents of sexual violence in Japan are not reported to the police according to government figures, and for good reason. Discussing rape is perceived as "embarrassing" in Japan and public opinion often sways towards blaming the victim rather than the attacker.

Japanese women more likely to keep domestic abuse secret than EU peers: survey

“The 53 respondents may look too small (to come to any conclusion). Still, that none of them reported the abuse received was surprising to me,” Ryukoku University professor Masahiro Tsushima told The Japan Times.

I knew you were going to hide behind happened long time ago which is why I didn't give you recent examples of Abu Ghraib and Myanmar. Now you have exposed your own bias and confirmed your status as a Japanese dalaal who believes Japanese sexual violence during the wartime was mere "political propaganda".

@Bilal9 Look at this Japanese dalaal, he believes rape of Nanjing and the testimonies and cases of thousands of Korean, Pinay and Burmese comfort women is just "political propaganda".

Well I see the figure of 400,000 BD woman working at homes in middle east

Village entertainment girl. Becoming more and more common in rural Bangladesh. Was quite unthinkable in the past.
Did not find anything wrong with the dance. But, If the lyrics of that song actually means something close to what i think it means then i have to say that culturally we r going down as a nation.

They are working because they need money. That necessarily does not mean that their husabands do not work.

Indeed their husbands work but just they ( women ) do not want to lose the opportunity to earn some extra cash, so doing house maid job in middle east is much more lucrative than doing housemaids job in Bangladeshi house owners, simply because saudi will pay more .
Some of those women are either widow or divorced though. Some went there so that they can afford their kids and many more reasons .
