As I have said in previous post, maximum they could be arrested by civilian police forces with the accusation of being anti national. And most important thing is, not all those who were killed was evidently anti-Pak. It was a blanket killing without any hearing or trial. Only aim was to cripple the would be country. Punishing disloyalty was not the main motif of this killing. If they were such an ant pak, whey they were not punished earlier? Why only when the defeat was imminent? This shows hatred was the only motif of pak army.

Even if they were pro-independence, why pak army need to kill them when it was 100 percent certainty that they are loosing East Pakistan forever? These martyred people were not armed Mukti Bahini fighters. They were university professors, doctors, engineers, poets, novelists, journalists etc. Even if they harbored pro independence view, they were unarmed civilian. No code of conduct of warfare allow killing unarmed civilian who held dissenting voice. Would you be happy, if Indian armed forces in Kashmir do not differentiate killing between Kashmiri separatist fighters and Kashmiri intellectuals who want ''Azadi''? I don't think so. Killing intellectuals just before surrender only reveals pak army's intense hatred for Bangladesh and their psychotic illness. I can not remember any such incidence in modern warfare when a near defeated army killed the intellectuals of the country they are departing. Only aim of this heinous act was to cripple the future independent Bangladesh. What pak army achieved by this act other than earning the life time bitterness from the people of Bangladesh?

If they were pro independent intellectual then in what wisdom they were living in Dhaka? They should have fled to India like others but they remain in Dhaka to become easy pray for hunter.

This is not scorched earth tactic. you do not need to teach me the scorched earth tactic. Enemy side engage in this tactic against those objects which they identify vital for the war effort of their opponents. This is a tactic applied when there are still hope of winning the war or delay the defeat. These intellectuals were not such an object that eliminating will give pak army a chance to win or delay their defeat. Their murdering act was purely the product of intense raw hatred. Nothing else.

Exaggerating 1000x and inventing fairy tale. Can you give any prove of Mujib killed 40k Mukti Bahini fighters? Or Bangladesh army engaged in widespread killing and rape in CHT? Or commanding general ordered that thing ? I like to see credible reports on these subjects.
