Bangladesh: March in solidarity with Kashmir

Protesters gathered in Dhaka after Friday prayer, demanding restoration of special status of Indian-administered Kashmir

Md. Kamruzzaman |27.09.2019

DHAKA, Bangladesh

People marched in Bangladeshi capital Dhaka on Friday demanding an end to the curfew-like situation in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir. The group -- called Kashmir Solidarity Council Bangladesh (KSCB)-- gathered in Maghbazar neighborhood of the city and took out a procession following the Friday prayer.Demanding restoration of the decades-old special constitutional status for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, they called on the Indian government to stop persecution the Muslim-majority region.“Without holding a referendum as recommended by the resolution of the United Nations, peace cannot be established in Kashmir,” Mufti Habibur Rahman, KSCB central leader, said at the rally.Terming Kashmir crisis as an international issue, he added that India had changed its stance on referendum for the fear of losing the vote.“They [India] are now applying the path of tyranny against Kashmiri people to deprive them from their legitimate rights”.From 1954 until Aug. 5, 2019, Jammu and Kashmir had special status under the provision of Article 370 of the Indian Constitution. The provisions also protected the region's citizenship law, which barred outsiders from settling in and owning land in the territory. The Hindu nationalist BJP government of India suddenly withdrew this special provision last August, claiming it was hindering development in the region.Expressing skepticism to the claim, Rahman added: “In the last seven decades India has killed thousands of Muslims in Jammu and Kashmir and raped a number of women."Addressing the rally, some other Islamic leaders also urged the Muslim world to unitedly work to force India to grant the right to self-determination to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, to let them decide their own fate.

Not unexpected man.

You and I know where the hearts of Bengalis are in respect to Kashmir.

I honestly believe, the Indian government is trying to non militarily neutralize Bangladesh from becoming a threat to their East.

And Hasina/AL, whether for personal reasons or political ones, are allowing this to happen.

But for the common man in Bangladesh, this is what they believe.

Indeed.
Hasina won't be in power forever. She is 73 after all.
I'd like for BD to ally ourselves with the Muslim bloc (countries like Turkey, Malaysia,Indonesia, Pakistan etc.) after she's gone.

Don't let the Hindus divide Bangladesh/Pakistan friendship, we people are one.

I've been seeing Hasina's son more featured on posters since the last time I was in Dhaka. Let's not pretend he won't become PM and continue his mother's policies.

Disaster.

New leadership needed.

Different from the two old ladies or their offspring.

I assure you, Joy will never be accepted as a PM.He'll be seen as a foreigner as he has spent most of his life outside Bangladesh. And he's not even half the politician his mother is.
Let alone the people, even the BAL leaders will not accept him probably if Hasina isn't around.

Political divide is the "fitna" that the devil spreads between the Ummah of Nabi Muhammad Alaihi Salaat-u-Wassalam. It is meant to keep us from becoming the force that fights in the way of Allah Subhanahu Wata'aalah. It is Islam that unites us, it is our love and affection for our beloved Prophet, Sallallahu Alaihi Wassallam that gives us strength and power. The fools who tell you that there is no Ummah, are what they are, fools!

From the hearts of true Muslims in Pakistan, and our Kashmiri Muslim brothers and sisters, we pray for the betterment and success of our Bangladeshi Muslim brothers and sisters, as well as all our Muslim brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, sons and daughters around the world.

May Allah Subhanahu Wata'aalah grant us the strength of Imaan to fight to preserve the practice of the life of our beloved Prophet Muhammad Alaihi Salaat-u-Wassalam, Ameen!

Much respect to the Bengalis for showing their support, Unity amongst all like-minded Muslim countries is needed for us to stop atrocities on Muslims around the world.

I urge Bangladeshis and Pakistanis to understand the threat that is facing both countries and the games and politics being played to separate Muslims in this world.

Please reflect on this and lets adjust ourselves accordingly.

Even if on the present governmental level there is discord.

At least in our personal lives and with things we can control, try to live the brotherhood that our Prophet saw taught us and that was revealed FOR OUR BENEFIT from Allah swt.

And Allah swt knows best.
