One important thing ,there is no relative of Hasina is in the cabinet ! It's a good move !

But if Putul ever decides to join she can get the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs. She is involved in this type of thing in UN.

Hm . But maybe she won't join . As I feel that maybe Hasina want Bangladesh out of dynasty . And look ministers with bad image were out too . Qader is an exception maybe !

Does qader had bad image??? for what? Besides why Nahid unpopular. I think he did a outstanding job. To me most successful ministers are somehow unpopular.
1) Muhit
2) Nahid.
3) Motia
4) Qader

They all tried to work.. and work brings critics.

Screwed the banking sector
His success is taking the country to high growth trajectory. Banking sector fall under the Bangladesh Bank and overall country's law and legal system. Bank scandals are nothing new.
Question paper out scandals
Mass A+ doesn't mean education sector was doing well.

That again not directly related to education ministry. Pay attention to his implementation of Education Policy. Bringing massive amount of schools and collgesge under MPO as well as nationalizing mos to the colleges. Plenty of univerisities, medical collges and universities were built. Literacy rate climbed from 50's to 70's. You just nullified all his work due to few culprits who leaked question paper. You are a kid..
Too old. I don't think she did anything scandalous.
Unpopular
He did some work before becoming party secretary. After that he has been too focused on party not in ministry.
Party is what he has to focus. He is doing great in mobilizing big projects.

I thought muhit did pretty well all things considered (can't talk for the rest of them, my knowledge/caring is limited).

Banking sector wise, there was only so much he could do in the last term given some shit you just have to let wither away and shrivel up on its own accord first....before you can start hewing away at it with more clarity....otherwise sometimes you end up doing more damage if you intervene prematurely to heavily. But he also let somethings grow and fester too when he could have sorted that out...so I am not giving a full pass to him or anything....but the details are bit murky.

Its not such an easy thing to balance...he was right to focus on other priorities over it....but this term sure hold the finance ministry feet (you got kamal there now rite?) to the fire on banking sector...given the clarity should be there now.

Can you (or anyone) tell me about mustafa kamal? My usual friendly sources seem bit biased on him so I would like more opinions to get well rounded picture.

He holded the office of Planning Ministry in last term and did excellent job. His background is economics, secured 1st place from Dhaka university. Turned from a poor fellow to a very rich businessman and a very successful politician. Well known for his integrity and new ideas after taking office. Not sure about his earlier success in business though.
He is known as "Lotus Kamal". I guess he took the name from Lotus Battery a defunct battery company merged with Rahim Afroz. Not 100% sure.

Muhit overall did a good job, but the share market scandal and banking scandal harmed his reputation. And some of his remarks made him unpopular too. Also he's turning 86 this January.

Bangladesh share market was thriving(or was artificially made to thrive) in 2009-10. And then the crash caused too much damage and stock market is yet to recover from that. Hasina did recognize Muhit's work though. It was rumored that Muhit wanted to leave after his first term but Hasina requested him to stay.

Mustafa Kamal, known as Lotus Kamal, was a chartered accountant. He was the planning minister from 2014-18. Apparently it is said, that he did a good job there. So he was recommended to be the finance minister. Before he used to be the president of Bangladesh Cricket board. And he was also the president of ICC too for a short term.

He, like Muhit, are/were not active in the party politics. But has Hasina's approval and concentrate on the ministry not on the party.

Overall the performance of muhit is not bad. But many peoples mock him because of him famous quotations . One of his famous quotations are , "who has 1 lakh taka (1200 $), they are wealthy" . And such many more questions that easily agitated peoples and they used to mock him.

He is not closer to common folks and do not understand their problems, he believes that he knows our need better than ourselves.
And overall he is not bad, but consider himself all knowing and very fond of sycophancy.
And for mustafa kamal whom we called lotus Kamal, is really good. And I believe he will do much better job than muhit .
And about him @Mage and @TopCat already said , that's my opinion too.
@Nilgiri.
Ps: Specially I am very happy that almost all old ministers with controversial image was replaced by new MPs.
It's a good sign of Bangladesh politics that corrupted folks will not survive easily like past days .

1) Finance minister is a economist.
2) Planning minister is an economist.
3) Foreign minister is an economist.
4) Power minister is an economist.
4) Agro minister is an agro graduate. (did not know he is an alumni of purdue)
5) Commerce minister is a businessman.

Now everybody should know where the priority is...

Hasina might be corrupt but she does have smart people around her. Probably a reason why she makes smart moves and done so well in the economic front.

I am glad to see that the well educated peoples are now going to lead us. I wish day by day educated peoples will be interested in politics. It's necessary to elevate the rights of common peoples.

Exactly. That's the only way forward. AL has taken good decisions on that regard. You always start will putting the right people at the right places.
