Baby killed after being DROPPED by mum from escalator

THIS is the horrifying moment a three-month-old baby is killed after being accidentally dropped by its mum on an escalator.
CCTV footage from a shopping centre in southern China shows the baby in the arms of its mother moments before she loses her footing.
Seconds after the mum-of-two steps onto the third floor escalator, she loses her balance causing the baby to tumble over the handrail onto a lower floor.
She can be seen panicking and dashing down the moving steps along with her older child.

The heartbreaking incident took place at the Zhenxing shopping centre in Changping, in China’s Guangdong Province, on Saturday afternoon shortly after the family finished having lunch.
According to a statement from the Changping government, the child was pronounced dead at the scene after paramedics failed to resuscitate it.
The child’s gender was not revealed.

Speaking to Guangdong Radio and Television group, an insider said: “The mother brought her children to take the escalator.
“Probably she didn't stand stably, the child fell out of her arm down four storeys.”
According to eyewitnesses, the mum and older child sprinted down to the ground floor where the baby’s lifeless body lay.

Reports say the pair leaned over the child and cried.
It is claimed the baby’s dad rushed to the scene but the child had already died by the time he arrived.
Local media reports suggest that the matter is currently being investigated by the police.
