FREDERICK, Md. — In 2019, an Army laboratory at Fort Detrick that studies deadly infectious material like Ebola and smallpox was shut down for a period of time after a CDC inspection, with many projects being temporarily halted.

The lab itself reported that the shutdown order was due to ongoing infrastructure issues with wastewater decontamination, and the CDC declined to provide the reason for the shutdown due to national security concerns.

That US lab conducts research on Ebola. That is not coronavirus. Different story.

I have an idea what's coalition's plan against China.

They will file cases in international arbitration/ courts/ whatever and then will get decision in their favor. Courts will most likely impose huge penalties on China and ask her to compensate the affected countries. The amount will be in multiple hundreds of billions (could be in trillions) of dollars.

China will obviously not accept the decision and then unilaterally, these countries will start ceasing Chinese government's investments/ funds/ assets in US/ Europe/ Australia etc.. They will also impose sanctions.

Now it will be interesting to see how China plans to come out of this shit.

Manufacturing has already started moving out. They will hedge their bets and move manufacturing to more places to minimize risk and dependency on one country. I think countries with good infrastructure and low costs like Vietnam will benefit the most. India unfortunately still lacks the infrastructure and has terrible labour laws.

For another 10 years or so, there's simply not a single country that could replace China as a manufacturing hub.

It's all about Chinese investments and funds the US and its allies are after. They were living under a risk of Chinese withdrawal in the near future and coronavirus has provided them with a perfect opportunity.
