I'm not familiar with the story, but if that is the case, then definitely it is wrong for that individual to have yelled invectives at that Chinese child. Let's hope that not all Australians are like that. As far as I know, there's quite the number of Chinese living in Australia. So im sure its not that bad over there.

Actually, I'd say his view is quite representative of the Aussie anglos (I lived +4 years in Sydney). My personal impression is that 70-80% anglos are racist. about 10% of those are open racist/bogans while the others just keep it inside and will still interact and work with you (like that MP).

In general, every ethnic groups in Aus are prejudice to a certain degree, even Asians. Anglos prejudice against Asians and wogs. Asians hate anglos. Wogs hate everyone, and everyone hates aborigines.

Aus is a damn racist place. But everyone learns to live with it and it's not a big deal. People can even make fun and joke about each others race. People will still work and aquint with each other.

Yeah, bcz we r only talking abt our business, our lives, our kids in real life and try to avoid talking abt territorial conflicts, so we dont have racist problem.

When working over sea 10 years ago, I discussed with some Chinese abt 1979 war, SCS(conflict) and we had a hot disagreement . But after that time, we never talking abt VN-China history any more and just keep play football game and had fun together.
