I do not understand why folks give such stock to these useless speeches at UNGA. First, it's the UNGA. A group that has no power whatsoever. Second, these speeches to change things one iota. Third, they are mostly for local consumption.

In my opinion, what happens on the sidelines and behind the scenes that are more important than speeches made to a half-empty hall.

His UNGA speech had two points mainly:

1) We have built 10 million toilets for India.

2) He mentioned terrorism as a global issue without mentioning Pakistan.

3) On Kashmir, he had nothing to say.

I'm surprised. Was this a joke? Was Modi addressing his domestic RSS janta? This is stupidity at a new level.
