We need to look at what's causing this though. It's a recent phenomenon.

Terrorism of this type was practically unheard of 20 years ago. Something has changed and ots getting worse.

No, if you have red and research about Nigeria's religious crisis history , then you will know that this is not a recent thing. It has been going on for as long as Nigeria became independent. The only difference is that now it has expanded and even worsen and due to social media/24hours news media as well, we can now get information and share them instantly . So people are more aware than before.
What made it even worse than before is that following the return of democratic government in 1999, the Muslim-dominated northern Nigerian states have introduced Sharia law, including punishments against blasphemy and apostasy. Several incidents have occurred whereby people have been killed for or in response to perceived insults to Islam or the prophet, and many more have only become even more radicalised believing that Nigeria should be an islamic country, shariah law should apply to all the country not just the muslim north and that infidels like Christians shiuld be converted, killed or made to leave. The implementation of shariah law has only embolden many of this groups/people , as they can even take matters into their own hands . Funny enough thevstate governments in the North often sympathise with this groups/people not just for personal reasons bit also religious and political reasons but they dont obviously say it publicly, but you can see it by their actions, reason many cases like this go unpunished.
In short , its a mess that will only get worse. The country should be divided, let the muslim north have their own country and Christian south theirs. Let everyone live in peace that way and carry on with their business that's the only long term solution. No way a very religious muslim région will live peacefully without very religious christian region.

In fact just recently there was even a case of a female university student who got lynched/beaten and killed by her muslim univeristy mates because they claim she blaspheme islam . Lol imagine that this arr the educated youths of the country, so that tells how the others who are not even educated will be. Lol

This insane act has nothing to do with Islam or even any Islamic sect. Nowhere in the Quran, Ahadith or Islamic traditions is murder of innocent people sanctioned for any reasons whatsoever.

This, I am afraid, is rooted in local ethnic/tribal conflict between North and South Nigeria. Similar senseless massacres have been committed against Muslim Nigerians by "Christian" Nigerians. There was even a civil war.

For simplistic reasons many people want to paint every conflict with purely religious glasses. This is absurdly simplistic.

The main victims of Boko Haram and other such insane terrorist organizations are innocent Muslims of Northern Nigeria. Anyone can google where most of their attacks have occurred and against whom and which demographic groups the victims belonged to.

Anyone who doubts what I wrote above has an agenda and most likely an anti-Islam one.

May I inform you that Christians are not regarded as "infidels" in Islam but people of the book. The whole religious concept of "infidel" is a Christian one.

Secondly I am not sure what Shariah law in Muslim majority regions of Northern Nigeria, decided by a consensus among the local people, have anything to do with terrorist attacks? Even more so when most of the rare harsh punishments applied in Shariah courts (which happen rarely due to the strict witness criteria in Shariah law) have never been implemented. To begin with 99% of all Shariah law has nothing to do with corporal punishments. For instance the much talked about death sentences for adultery (stoning) that were never implemented to date 23 years later.

Really it's hard to believe those news.
Maybe it was another kind of problem and it was used "blasphemy" as excuse to attack her.

Extremely violent crimes in developing countries due to common issues like love deceptions or robberies are a relative common thing, and I think when that kind of things happen in religious mixed zones, the attacker take advantage of that to justify himself.
