Assad Warns to Set Fire on Middle-East in Case of US Attack

"If a crazy measure is taken against Damascus, I will need not more than 6 hours to transfer hundreds of rockets and missiles to the Golan Heights to fire them at Tel Aviv," Assad said after Davutoglu conveyed the United States' warning message to him.

Why always Tel Aviv?

Why always Tel Aviv?

Only one card for ME rulers cum monsters to gain some support from public in case of emergencyunder their a** ...
Playing with emotions of public.. Tel Aviv is only one point where entire ME can point their guns happily .. otherwise they will keep fighting internally with those guns..

Most populous, the economic heart of Israel and the center of all the embassies as well.
Wonder if Russia and China, who just vetoed sanctions against Assad, will mind when rockets kill their diplomats....

Of course no one wants their diplomats to be killed. Who is going to invade Syria, and get them killed?

Also... is Tel Aviv or Jerusalem more important to Israel? Tel Aviv is like Shanghai I guess, the financial center.

Yes, to the second sentence. Jerusalem is the heart of Israel while Tel Aviv is the financial center.

What i said was that Syrian rockets might kill Chinese diplomats living in Israel.

Wouldnt Syria have to actually control the Golan Heights to be able to do that i think assad forgot that dad lost them a coulple of wars back.

I wonder how far Russia would be willing to go to stop an attack against Syria.

well they (and Chinese) did use Veto power to avert sanctions on Syria

a move i commend.....sanctions only aim to punish an entire country. We saw how much results they brought about in Iraq in 1990s! (sarcasm)

Syria is a difficult case b/c on one hand, we must recognize that this is an internal matter; but on the other hand, when you're dealing with over 2,500 deaths on mostly unarmed protestors --situation where everyday 25-50 people are gunned down by non-uniformed security personnel--one must ask for how much longer can we sit on the sidelines without doing anything. . .

i'm in close touch with a friend in Damascus -- the only thing the protestors have in common is that they want Assad out. As is the case in Egypt, there is some polarization on "best way forward" (i.e. debate amongst salafist rightists, moderate Islamist, secularist, centrists, socialists, etc.)
