ASEAN won't be a united military force unless all countries can go for it currently there is still Cambodia Thai Tensions not to mention china is the Lifeline for countries like Laos and pro china countries of ASEAN Malaysia, And why would vietnam lead ASEAN ? Indonesia seems better either way Countries that want to maintain good relations with China won't be dragged into the Philippians Vietnam china tensions, however Philippians and Vietnam will be good puppet to the USA, You know what I am Saying ?

You might be confusing Hoa Vietnamese with Vietnamese in Vietnam. Just like overseas Chinese tend to use traditional characters while mainland China uses simplified.

I've met some Vietnamese with an immediate rabid hate reaction to Chinese. Ditto for some South Koreans. Yet there are a minority in both Vietnam and South Korea who are really fond of China.

Libya is a small country that has always been subservient to the West. Beating it up is like beating up Yugoslavia.

Pakistan and Indonesia are much larger Muslim countries and not so easy for USA to mess up using subversion or warfare. As long as they don't end up sanctioned and isolated for 10 years like Saddam's Iraq, they should be able to defend their sovereignty.

Iran is awesome too. It doesn't take crap from Israel or the West, and its a big Muslim country with a long and proud history.
