Asad Umar could have been misquoted - it's a matter of grammar. We know that the Malaysian delegation invited Pakistan to participate and showcase the JF-17, Asad Umar said the Pakistan would like to participate, but I don't think that can be done at this late stage.

If jf17 had the ge 414 as an option...this would be a done deal. The rd93 engine is the only concern the Malaysians have according to reports. jf17 is the front runner over tejas or f50 in the Malaysian competition.

What would it take for GE to supply us the engine? They are already providing us turbines for coal plants by the bulk.

Ge would live the business but you need the Pentagon and whitehouse to sign off on it. Some engineering work may be required to make fit it in the airframe.
