With the aim to integrate the people of eastern Ladakh into the national mainstream, the army has taken various initiatives like opening of schools and medical aid centres under its 'Operation Sadbhavana'.

"The army's Trishul Division has initiated 'Operation Sadbhavana' to integrate the population of Eastern Ladakh into the national mainstream," Jammu-based defense spokesman Lt Col Manish Mehta said.

He said that in pursuit of this vision, Indian Army has implemented numerous initiatives under Sadbhavana such as opening of army goodwill schools, medical aid centres, women empowerment centres and vocational training institutes for self-employment.

"Various infrastructure development projects such as electrification of villages, construction of buildings for government-run schools, construction of community halls and provision of solar street-lights at villages have also been undertaken by the Army which have vastly improved the quality of life of the local population," he said.

The Army has also been undertaking projects for ecological preservation and provisioning of stores for community development in the remote and far-flung areas of Eastern Ladakh, he said.

"As part of ongoing community development initiatives, a Sadbhavana event was organised at Village Tsaka wherein the villagers were provided with utility items. Representatives of Army, Sarpanch and Numbardar of the village and locals attended the event," he said.

India should seriously considering splitting J&K into separate states and give each it's full blown funding. Ladakh and Jammu have so much to offer in terms of tourism, potential for R&D (owing to clear skies and high altitudes) in many areas like astronomy, agriculture, etc, than what India could accomplish having the headache of Kashmir bogging down the rightful developmental rights of the people of Ladakh and Jammu.

You need to try all the military generals who led the civilian murder and rape campaigns over the last 50 years before anything else. Then you can talk about integration. People want justice, not your crocodile well wishes.

trust me - the headache will continue to be more of a migraine for india as long as you occupy that side of Kashmir...that wont change

as for Ladakh - arent the Chinese grabbing it?

for that Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir must be out of force. And that can only happen when article 370 is removed.

Would you like to start with trying all the Generals in Pakistan who violated the Army Act, the Constitution and the law of the land and carried out Coups first ?

India is in the wrong, not Pakistan. You don't get to decide what is moral and just because India is morally bankrupt.

We can't try Pakistani generals.

Its not my problem your history is littered with mass murder and don't have the decency to conceptualize it. Next time you sit for dinner look around your table and ponder over how many women and children your army has killed.

The same applies to you in equal measure.

Pakistan is stuck in a time warp & shall remain there forever till the people of Pakistan start thinking for themselves & stop accepting what the ISI, PA & Mullahs say as gospel truth.

Good luck & lets not digress any further.

So terrorizing of innocent civilians for half a century is the same as collateral damage fighting an opposition which takes pleasure in bombing markets and killing children? Fix your moral compass.
