NEW DELHI: Home minister Rajnath Singh on Friday met Army chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag to review the security situation in Assam where a Bodo militant group killed over 80 tribals.

"We are going to intensify our operations in Assam. I can't give out any more information," Gen Suhag told the media after meeting with the home minister.

Meanwhile, Rajnath Singh met the families of victims and representative delegations of tribals at Biswanath Chariali in Assam and appealed to the people to observe restraint and prevent clashes on ethnic lines.

He also assured them of strong action against the terrorists.

Rajnath described the incident as a 'massacre' and added that there would be a time bound action against terror.

He also said the government will not talk to organisations indulging in cold blooded murder.

Rajnath said external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj has spoken to the government of Bhutan and the latter has assured action against any terror outfits on its soil.

He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced compensation of Rs 2 lakh to the kin of the victims.

The home minister said that the Centre has already despatched 50 companies of CAPFs to Assam, and paramilitary forces along with the state police and the Army will undertake a coordinated action against the terrorist organizations.

He added that the Centre has instituted NIA probe into the Assam killings.

Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi, Union minister of tribal affairs Joel Oram, minister of state for home affairs Kiren Rijiju and home secretary Anil Goswami were also present.

I'm not in the habit of judging who is a "true muslim" and who isn't. Only the person himself or herself can know that. What I do know is that the person I was responding to has been supporting terrorist groups and activity against India, and the USA. Until the recent school massacre, he was also a TTP sympathizer - but now he believes that TTP are hindu agents.

I agree with you, we should (and will) kill whoever kills non combatants. India doesn't care about the religion of either the victims or the perpetrators.
