Are Hakeem and harees available in Pakistan?

I hate Haleem, can't stand it and can't eat it. Its cooked in our home on special occasions, I have to eat it because there is no other option. Although after eating Haleem I feel very powerful in many many ways.
Yeah some people hate it here too..but I love it

I could just about tolerate it if I eat it with Naan and put a lot of lemon on the haleem.
Kyon Haleem ki aisi taisi kartey ho naan key saath kar. Bhai is ghareeb Haleem ney tumhara kya bigada hey? Is ka tou namm hi Haleem hey.

In my house we prepare Haleem in various way. basically, there are three or four basic components (Wheat, Barley, Lentils, Meat) of Haleem and variation among these and cooking style brings out a different variety. I like textured one, with more wheat and barley, and less lentils. I don't crush the grains too much while prefer to use shanks and loins together with bones with bone marrow. I have tried Ox tail and it does work well though not as well as bones. It is difficult to buy Camel's meat here in Malaysia, but best Haleem is prepared by Camel's meat for it has long thread-like texture (in Urdu resha). When in Pakistan, I specially used to buy Camel meat (sold by Afghans) for Haleem.

Are we supposed to eat Haleem with spoon? I've always ate it with naan.

My dad makes really good haleem, he learnt it from his mother. His style is pretty similar to the one used by you, although getting camel meat here in UK is impossible so we have to make to do with other meat, but when we were in Karachi it was always made with camel meat.

Eating with spoon... well that is the idea. Yes, that is old style of cooking Haleem. For us (I am half Shia, half Sunni), Haleem is a must on 10th Muharram.

white and semolina! cant IMAGINE WHAT IT MAY BE.
This is what a good haleem should look and feel like ;)

man, the Indian one I did not eat with naan, infact the place had no naan if I remeber, it was exclusive haleem place.
Pakistani one is very spicy, they add fried oinion and green chilli on top. You have to eat it to know why you need naan. Check the picture somebody has posted.
Pakistani one has daal in it.

Yeah pista house, I remember now.

seriously bhai! those who who eat haleem with naan must keep two roza extra for this sin ( no offense to any one just kidding). Haleem is a complete dish in itself just add fried onions and a dash of lime and have it !

Haleem and Khichra are sold year round as snack food in nearly all Pakistani cities and towns. Haleem and Khichra (khichda) are same except that in Haleem meat and bones are separated and the meat grinded and mixed in the dish while the bones are discarded. While in Khichra the meat cubes with bones remain in the dish.

We used to make haleem in a deigg(big pan ) haha sorry, in mohram nights, we collect donation from neighbors and it's almost took a whole night to make it Bari Bari Sab Ghotta lagate with gup shup and when it get ready we distribute to all specially who donate us! As haleem has a lot of ingredients to put in the maker of it was from different faiths mean Suni Shia Ahmdis Christian! Sigh that golden days. As to eat it I'm also like &Jaanbaz squeeze a lot of lemon and slice cuts of ginger on it Yummy eat with spoon without bread.
