APML will take part in LB polls: Musharraf

KARACHI (Web Desk) – Former president and army chief Gen (r) Pervez Musharraf has announced that his party, All Pakistan Muslim League (APML), will take part in local bodies’ election.

Addressing a session of APML’s Central Executive Committee in Karachi on Sunday, the former president expressed his hope that his party would win the local bodies’ election. He also stressed the need of party restructuring at the grass-roots level, terming it vital for party’s progress.

Pervez Musharraf, who has remained calm and quiet for a long time, has decided to be active in politics with his decision of taking part in the local bodies’ polls. Hinting towards midterm elections, he said that Pakistan was always his first preference and he wanted to do good and positive politics for its development.

He lamented over the bad situation of the country, owing to the incompetence of rulers pushing Pakistan towards destruction. “Only the good politics can save the country,” he added.

Post the Links before making comment. PTI and AIML means no Deal because Imran Khan is now comfortable with Nawaz rather as he has no Backup for making another noise. AIML and MQM is possible and could be great sucker punch to PTI for collaborating with PMLN now a days.

APML held huge CEC conference today in Karachi it was aired on all the news channels. You didn't see?
And obviously APML and PTI won't be together that's just a fantasy of mine but what I meant was I'll be happy if either party wins though I'd vote for PTI.
And what do you mean IK is comfortable with NS? Where'd you get that?
IK threatened to launch another dharna because of which PMLN finally agreed to formation of judicial commission which is why PTI is cool right now. And making alliance in LG polls is a waste of time and absolutely useless so it won't happen (MQM-APML).
Oh and dude it's APML (All Pakistan Muslim League) not AIML (All India Muslim League) please correct your post.

Presiding over All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) Central Executive Committee (CEC) and Central Working Committee on Sunday, Musharraf, who has remained calm and quiet for a long time, said he has decided to be active in politics. He said the APML will go to the people with the slogan of “Pakistan First”.

He said during his tenure the economy was vibrant but now it has been pushed to the bottom. He asked the workers to prepare for the local government elections. He said a prominent personality has agreed to support the APML in LG elections in Karachi. He said that his preference is still Pakistan and he wanted to do good and positive politics for its development.

Musharraf lamented over the bad situation of the country, saying Pakistan is heading towards destruction day by day and only the good politics can save the country.

The former president predicted that mid-term polls and interim government cannot be ruled out and that elections will be held after the incumbent government completes its three years.

“Party is incomplete without reorganization, however, it should be at grassroots point if you want to bring it at country-wide level,” Musharraf told the leaders and workers.

Musharraf warned that politics of Pakistan faces major challenge.

Commenting on the need of third political power in the country, the former president said, “Pakistan needs third political power.” He greeted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan for making efforts to emerge as third political power.

“Change in government is to be made through change in system,” Musharraf added.

Doesnt Matter but the real loss would be of PTI only. Dont know about that Prominent Personality but if its Mustafa Kamal then consider an alliance or joint Arrangement and if that happened then say good bye to PTI from Karachi once in for all.
