There was definitely nothing wrong as far as a broad mindset is concerned...I guess Khan did bcz of anti religious events occurring...to find a base of neutral mindset and societal work...there's definitely something wrong with human kinds when it comes to religion...fatwaas are wrong number in Islam..

There were only 2 scenes that sidetracked from a serious but witty message, replace that pundit or whatever that FAT guy is with a Pir & the message is still pretty relevant.
