i had to respond to your sissy analysis.
I like how they are so desperately trying to fight China. Seriously, why do you guys feel so proud? I mean, It's China, which shakes American Policy, you think it is so easy to play games with them just because IAF or IA or IN or ICG bought some cool new and expensive toys?

I could find two major lessons that A&N command can take from the falklands campaign.
1. Aircrafts armed with anti ship missiles is the most formidable threat that a naval task force can have.
--- Super Etanards with Exocet vis a vis Su 30 mki with Brahmos!
2.Aerial Early Warning is the key to fleet defence.
---Assets like P8i, phalcon, DRDO AWACS stationed in A&N.
I believe the enemy would not dispatch a task force to capture A&N (like the british did in FW). At least not before softening the naval strike ability of A&NC. This can be achieved by Aerial strike (but with crafts operating at extreme ranges) and/or cruise missile attack by submarines (safer and more effective option).
AWACS are supposed to be operating safely inside Indian territory on both our Western and Eastern....exclusively for our air defense as an asset to our Air superiority fighters ( MKI's).....its been discussed several times that sending AWACS into unprotected territory is risky ( too valuable as force multiplier assets)......doubt the IAF would expose Palcons to enemy fire or anti - AWAC missiles ......
and given the number of surface combat ships of the IN operating in the IOR ....it appears that the only feasible way for a successful strike at India from the sea is through Submarines
