An Image From 2002 Standoff With India!

If i am not wrong, BVR missiles were provided to PAF by China along with 48 F-7PG aircrafts during the 2002 military standoff.
Exactly, the PGs were acquired during these hostilities... Not exactly to fire off more sidewinders.!!
The Indians awarded one of their MiG - 29 pilot (Now deceased) for allegedly locking onto an F-16... The PAF OTOH doesn't do this exercise for merely showboating.
As there was an occasion, when a pair of F-16s tailed a formation of Five MiG - 29s for around 20 minutes. The Fulcrums were completely oblivious of the F-16s presence until warned by their GCI, in process the MiG formation panicked and jinxed so violently that they almost crashed into each other.

Negative - it was the Mirage 3.
I don't think so , unless you can prove it

No, correct factual figure is somewhere around 6000+.

There were lots of suicides by Indian soldiers, not just accidents.
you must be crazy to come up with such numbers. the casualties mostly came from mines , CI ops and cross border firing which was at it's peak in that era. even then the numbers don't cross 800-1000 killed and 1,000+ injured

So no one believes on your just wordings unless you provide the proofs of your claims

I am content, believe what you may or may not.

and yet the PAF's F-16s turned back and avoided combat against MiG-29s on CAP with R-27s, while Pakistani regulars of the NLA and mujahideen were being pounded by the IAF.

Ripple fired R-27s were a dangerous threat no matter what their overall reliability would have been. Especially given that the F-16s had nothing to fire back till they were within 10-15 km of the opposing fighter whereas the R-27s would've been fired from well over 30-40 km out.
For political reasons

Hello @Windjammer they were entirely stationed in Baluchistan (early 2000s) from what I remember and rarely flew without tanks due to their short legs.

I have failed to see any BVR-AAM on F-7PG under WAC and SAC.

On Alert, they were armed with 2 Sidewinders and 2 Tanks.

Grifo Series has its performance limitations, technically capable of BVR engagement but on the cusp.

Lol you're nobody to claim without any proofs/links/source
still content;)

Mirage 3s could be armed with R.530s which were semi active radar homing medium ranged air to air missiles. Similar missiles could be carried on the centerline "wet" pylon.
If anyone has images of F7PGs with BVR missiles, Please do share.

let me rephrase - Some Mirage's of the PAF Had BVR capability for a short while.

The backup is dead.
Yes, armed with the Matra R.530 which was notoriously unreliable & retired sometime in the 70s.

What he has posted is well known amongst PAF history buffs. Mirage III armed with R.530.

Son this is the fruitiest threat I have received.
Forget it most of these Noobs don't know jack. Their PAF history & knowledge starts at JF-17 & ends at J-10.

Sir, from what i have learned that the BVR on PGs was some South African / Chinese mated system. Apart from F-16s, the PGs were the only platform thay could carry four Pappas with a drop tank on centre line,.

Would be terrible for Indians (Causalities wise) if they attacked in 2002, their logistics were crumbling killing many soldiers, in mist of all that if the war broke out the initial attack by Pakistan would be devastating for Indian ground forces, and of course after that Indian counter attack would be a hard blow for Pakistan.
