Hi

As you know election was held in AJK. In the news they were telling that polls were postponed in Lahore. The fight also took place in Gujranwala polls. I don't get it. These were elections for AJK, then why were they also having elections in cities like Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, etc? Please let me know. Thank you.

those who are citizens of Azad Jammu and Kashmir but live here, vote for their respective constituencies, they have double votes, they can vote in Pakistan general elections and as well as elections of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Thank you, Leader. I'm sure your information is correct. But I don't think there are many Kashmiris in Gujranwala or Lahore that having a separate polls in these cities would help a lot. Okay, Kashmiris have double vote. What other group in Pakistan also has double vote? Please let me know. Thanks.

There will be Kashmiris in other towns and villages.

What about their votes?

Why this special preference for Lahore and Gujjranwala etc?

I dont know how big the Lahore, gujranwala, pindi constituencies are, nor do I know how Kashmiries are dispersed in Punjab, but just to give you an idea, the constituency of Sialkot for the migrated people from jammu is stretched uptil gujranwala on one end and other side it is almost uptil Shakarghar(I forgot the twon name its some 10-15 km away from Shakarghar)...its more or less 120 km distance,

no other group has double votes, nor dual domiciles.

Brig sahib @ I hope this answers your query as well.
