Airtel Lanka (Pvt) Ltd , also known as Airtel Lanka, is the Sri Lankan subsidiary of Bharti Airtel. Airtel Lanka commenced commercial operations of services on 13 January 2009.

Granted a license in 2007 in accordance with the Sri Lanka, Airtel Lanka as nationwide coverage & holds 1.4 million subscribers as of September 2010.

Network Implementation

Airtel currently uses GSM/3G/ UMTS/HSPA Technologies.

Airtel 3G Broadband & Coverage

Airtel offers cheapest Mobile broadband plans starting 5GB for Rs.299/- though major cities like Colombo, Kandy, Negombo & Galle are covered by 3G network.

Airtel is improving their GSM coverage rapidly and they have 1000+ Base Station on operation nation-wide.
