Maybe because Bin Qasim had waged a war against ancient Pakistanis and had not entered the modern territory of India. So naming a Pakistani missile in his honour in order to intimidate Indians would defeat the purpose it is being named for. Maybe the few million Sindhis in India might feel intimidated by such a move.

I guess the thread starter is Afghan national. The criticism on Abdali in pakistan, comes from his military expeditions in Punjab and areas around Delhi, to consolidate his rule. They were not locals so needed some plundering to feed their large army (who has not done plundering?). Note that in panipat they didnt need to plunder as most of the musalmans in panipat area were of Afghan descent who were cooperating with their kinsmen Rohillas and Durranis. Punjab was ruled by mughals for two centuries and was not subjected to foreign invasions for these two centuries, mughals were excellent administrators and they were loved by punjabi muslims. Nadir Shah was the first invader after such long period and he destroyed the punjab region and delhi, his troops army had large Afghan contingent , somehow nadir shah himself was perceived as Afghan by punjabis and delhwis (they remember him as nadir shah durrani rather than afshar). Read urdu poetry of that time, it is deeply affected by nadir shah sacking of delhi and massacring its inhabitants. Its no coincidence that muslim Punjabis and urduspeakers of U.P have racist jokes for sikhs as well as pashtuns. The dislike for both dates back to 18th century. (note that sikh misals also looted delhi and U.P in case you are wondering).

Ahamd Shah abdali not only ended much respected mughal rule (among muslims) in punjab but they also had not forgotten that he was part of nadir shah's military expedition. The most acute problem for punjabi muslims at that time were sikh misals who were terror for them, Abdali led several military expeditions against sikh misals, who were terrorizing muslim populations, but the enemies used to retreat to hills instead of offering war. Punajbi musalmans blame Ahmad shah for sikh problem, the argument was that mughals were much efficient in dealing with sikhs.Thats why punjabis like @pakdefender love mughal aurangzaib for going against hindus but dislike abdali even though he also went against hindu marathas., Punjab remembers !

India's (hindus, sikhs and even muslims) hostility towards Abdali is natural and understandable. He was an enemy who put stop to marathaization of entire india. I dont know why OP was even disturbed by indian comments.

Just a while ago I was going through some links and videos about founder of Afghanistan, Ahmad Shah Abdali. I noticed that Pakistanis either got no opinion of him, or are all praises over him. But I was very, very surprised by Indian point of view regarding Abdali. Not because he was considered a invader, but because he was also considered looter of entire India, abductor of Indian women, and many more rubbish I heard for first time in my life!

So I would like to know, both from Pakistan and Indian members, if they know about Abdali then what do they think of him and WHY? I hope we can form a healthy debate with no attacks or insults please.

Indians delusional and we know that.
