When Pakistan was given the Block 52 F-16s nearly a decade ago, it was in the hopes that in the end of an escalation between the two nations, Pakistan would have the means to conventionally repel a limited skirmish with the Indians, until international intervention could de-escalate the situation.
Febuary 2019 proved this to be a wise move. In the same vein, sale of 200-300 JSOWs for the PAF F-16s will do something similar. It will decrease the need for nuclear weapons, and let all commanders know that there are conventional means at their disposal, so they don't have to shoot off NASR systems, in a use it or lose it scenario.
Febuary 2019, should Pakistan used the F-16s responsibly, and in a limited and calculated manner. Pakistan can therefore be trusted to field the JSOWs only if and when needed.
