AGNI 5 :: Reign of fire

well...missiles will powered by Solid fuels while space rockets will be powered by liquid fuels..... both r diff ....we are not going 1st gen ICBM , we going for 2nd n 3rd gen go icbm....

my advise, dont take Indians 'will' seriously, so just read this as an entertainment

You are right we are developing agni 5, agni 6, nuclear submarines etc. to entertain chinese

But i don't think within next 5-6 years when these will be deployed you will be left with any entertainment but sleepless nights

Its Good Going...!! but long way to go. Specially tie up russian, Isreali and French for the intelligent counter measures against BMD (ballistic missile defences), reducing radar cross-sections are some of them

Like they helped in SU30 MKI.... let start with missile with small range like Barak 8 and then Implement the same in ICBM.

Till date no country has mastered in that technology.....(Specially manoeuvring re-entry vehicles (MaRV))

Are you kidding me? The article has lots of new info and details of operational scenarios.

The missiles are not only hi-tech but more robust now. They need much less maintenance and manpower. Only one/two officers are required to handle the entire launch sequence. Encrypted codes from the strategic command will allow them to launch the missile towards the target. :D

What i meant was, we know these facts after our successful launch of Agni IV that missiles will be sleeker and need less efforts to handle...

Uhh.. no.. An Island called the United states of America did it quite a while before.
No cake for you.

I think the focus should be on better SLBM's for the Arihant rather than working on the Agni line.

SLBMs are very important for completing our deterrent triad.Nothing yet about that, any news anybody ??

Since when has the USA been an island?

Working on the agni line is important for India, after all these are only just barely ICBM class. And nobody else is going to supply us with technology like this, so it is important that we don't lose the technological know-how that has been developed so far.

I agree that India has a lot of work to do on SLBMs. However, very little is known on what is going on on that front right now, so I can't comment.

That is already a "work in progress". And in that case the launch platform is also a "work in progress" in tandem.
While for the Agni series, the launch platform (terra firma) is already matured. :P

So that is why work carries on with the Agnis. Tech will be cross-developed in both programs.

Surprised that no land based BM from any of the "new" entrants uses the aerospike as on the Trident Missiles.
