Aggressive' China losing friends: leaks

I don't know if our Chinese posters here want to talk in a serious manner about this. the currency manipulation, the false insistence of calling itself as a "developing country " and not "developed" to walk away from economic standards a " developed country" has to comply with for trade. The resource for aid deals in poor countries, the human right issues, the constant barrage of provocation of others boarders, Taiwan, Tibet, the disregard for climate change, the state sponsored hacking, support for the worlds pariah and terrorist supporting nations etc etc. this is not even touching on the dictatorship internally because quite frankly it is non of our business.

China continues to dump cheap consumer goods into foreign markets. By keeping the yuan undervalued, the party-state creates an enormous competitive advantage for China and keeps many workers from Canada and across the world out of work. Nobel laureate economist Paul Krugman has said that, by displacing the output of foreign producers with its own low-wage goods, China is arguably the prime culprit in holding back a robust recovery in global economies.

Economist Peter Navarro, author of The Coming China Wars, argues that consumer markets across the world have been “conquered” by China, largely through cheating on trade practices. These include export subsidies, the widespread counterfeiting and piracy of products, currency manipulation, and environmental, health, and safety standards so lax and weakly enforced that they have made China a very dangerous place to work.

hahahaha Peter Navarro:tongue:

hmm, about dangerous... how many indians die of starvation/disease every year? though sad that our workers constantly face industrial accidents, especially in coal mines, don't even dare compare the danger of being born in india and being a worker in china.

I wasn't comparing life in china vs India internally- I was pasting the economist comment as a whole. In my eyes- There is no comparison because one is a communist dictatorship and other is a democracy. I really don't care what the internal situation is in china, that's up to its citizens. And yes its sad when 50,000 lives were lost in mining accidents. But I'm surprised your govt has allowed you access to this ' political' site. and your right, India is no land of honey in respects to living standards, safety and human rights. we have ways to go to improve...

My post was about external economic issues and china's foreign policy. and in regards to that I'm spot on in my comments. and the subject header has validity.

hahahaha Peter Navarro:tongue:
would you like me to cite other economists - there are thousands of papers written on this subject of china's devaluing and cheating methods.

The comparison is not an ignorant, that is enough.

You can sure, (in fact please do) and I can cite you thousands of papers written saying it's bullsht including those written by Nobel economists.

Typical victim mentality.

lol @ victim mentality.

okay you go first because i would like to see these papers where currency manipulation is called bs . on my end all you have to do is put in to Google currency manipulation and china.

and what is " victim mentality" comment about? we are having an intellectual conversation here about china's economic role in the world.

So true!
China is not only losing friends but making more enemies.
China should be more concentrated on a regulated growth and look for a bright future rather than try and behave like a Big Bro.
China has been criticized many a times for this.

I just don't understand why China pretends to be aggressive and over estimating itself!
Its leaders seem to be misguided.

If you really read the article and pay attention to the details you will actually see that China is losing FEW friends.

Despite all these "China neighbors ganging up on China" articles, you have yet to find any diplomatic wire from any ASEAN countries that are complaining about China. Not even Vietnam (That is already 9 countries).

Besides China has land borders with 14 countries and plus S Korea and Japan makes 16 neighboring countries.

So how many neighbors are complaining about China ?
India ? Japan ?

This is what they teach in western school of journalism. Turn 2 countries into a "China neighbors ganging up on China".

And what a joke to include Norway. As if they could not find enough countries.
