Afghan forces attack Pakistani border, casualties reported

The Afghan National Army launched an unprovoked attack on a Pakistan Army post in Angoor Adda.



According to reports, the Afghan National Army breached into the Pakistani border in South Waziristan and opened fire at a check-post.


There were unconfirmed news that five men of NATO forces and seven of Afghan army were killed when the Pakistani forces returned fire. Three Pakistani soldiers were also reported to be injured.


South Waziristan Agency’s Political Agent Atifur Rehman said that the Afghan forces fired 70 mortar shells that wounded two soldiers and five civilians, while 50 shops were also damaged.


The Angoor Adda bazaar was shut down and the locals started evacuation.


Last night, Afghan forces had also attacked at the Datta Khel border in North Waziristan in which eight Afghan soldiers were killed when the Pakistani forces retaliated.

don't behave arrogant, bullet doesn't see nationality or religion, and Pakistani arm-men are not superman... there is small possibility that the result would have been opposite...

When you attack someone's check post you are supposed to get answer in the same manner as PA did. We aren't going to send you sweets and chocolates if you attack us. Simple.

What is the rationale behind ANA supposedly backed by NATO to attack Pakistan Army outpost...? This is a very serious matter. I hope they didn't think it was a training exercise.

ok sir i went a bit rash but no one have any rite to attack our men and than try to gain sympathy .....and dont tell me it was a mistake or a tactical blunder ANA and NATO on many occasions have attacked us delebratly ...secondly i never said any thing abt ationality or religion ..yes our men r not super man and even if a small possibility occured the would have died defending their country .they may not be as well trained but hell they r determined i befriended many on flood relif camps ,,,i know what they r made of
