QUETTA: The sessions judge, Sibi, on Wednesday sentenced a rapist to be hanged thrice for assaulting a five-year-old girl who later died because of injuries.

The verdict carries a Rs600,000 fine to be paid by the convict.

Judge Rashid Mahmood announced the verdict after prosecution proved charges against Sani Messiah.

The toddler, subjected to assault on Jan 22, died during treatment at a Quetta hospital.

I think he should be hanged thrice in Public so that everyone can take an example from it.

So he hangs, dies.. and then they try to revive him with a CPR..by the grace of god it works.. and then hang him again.. and then try reviving him again.. and then hang him again.

While the action is correct.. thrice makes less sense.. it like the Judge saying "kill him, kill him till he's dead".

it could be because of death sentences in different penal codes, so he would have gotten death sentences under three sections, so death thrice

If he survives the first hanging, then he is hung again and by chance if he survives that, off to the gallows again and by chance if he survives the third time with the noose then he is free to walk. So it's not really a hanging until death sentence
