if it's in australia's interest to be a US lapdog then so be it. i say this perfectly aware that pakistan will become a chinese lapdog in the future if it isn't already.

Not likely Australia will be US lapdog, not sure whether or not Pakistan will be China lapdog, that is up to you to decide

i hope not for both cases. admittedly i don't follow australia closely in national-level or geopolitics but i know they have taken many anti-china stances in favour of siding with the US.
