62 Pakistanis executed in Saudi Arabia over drug trafficking

ISLAMABAD: A total of 62 Pakistani nationals have been executed in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) for drug smuggling in the last five years, according to the Foreign Office on Thursday.

17 Pakistanis have been executed in 2018; 13 Pakistanis were hanged in on drug smuggling charges in 2017; followed by 5 Pakistanis in 2016; 14 in 2015 and 12 were awarded capital punishment in Saudi Arabia in 2014, said foreign ministry.

As many as 1,764 Pakistanis have been imprisoned in Saudi Arabia on charges of drug trafficking, which is 47 per cent of the total Pakistani prisoners in the Kingdom.

A coordination office was working in the Saudi Embassy in Islamabad for formal liaison with anti-narcotics authorities. Moreover, a memorandum of understanding on controlling illicit drug trafficking and psychotropic substances is also under consideration between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia for the control of drug trafficking.

Although i support death penalty for drug peddlers yet these are our nationals they are excecuting, we must push to sign a billateral treaty with the saudis that allows us to extradite our citizens n let them serve thier sentence in Pakistan.

bahi .. in pakistan drug traffickers mostly remains at large according to interior ministry, in islamabd's schools drug is common... how many are arrested??? and how many are punished? KSA has their own rules and those who wanna live there must have to follow the law of the land ...or else they can settled to other countries

Good Riddance. If you are distributing poison for other human beings to kill themselves everyday then you don’t deserve an ounce of sympathy and compassion.

Back in 2004 a guy from my village was caught at Karachi airport with 5kgs of heroine in his shoes. He was trying to smuggle that to Saudi Arabia. The guy was out of jail after a month & is happily enjoying his life in Europe now.

In 2012/2013 another guy from my village was arrested in Hong Kong smuggling heroine & last time I heard he was still in a jail in Hong Kong.

That is 2 close examples that I can give you which reflect our judicial system.

You think they beheaded them for drugs? Have you thought about Umpaid salaries, by being Pakistanis who’s life in the eye of a Saud doesn’t mean diddly caca...
They were your people, some of them are probably innocents, they killed because their life is cheap in the Saud backward mind..and you thank them for killing them? Which kind of human are you?

These execution doesn't help to catch the kingpin ... these are only carriers.
