well even a "mazdoor" who just take off the goods from truck earns 350 - 500 rupees per day. I don't know which "ghareeb" earns 106 rupees per day... even those who beg on the streets are usually earning good money in my opinion.

yeh it said Rs3,224 per capita means that in an average family of about six people the sole bread earner would have to earn Rs2,100 ($25) per month to remain above poverty level.

now as far as we know here most of the bred earner are earning more than Rs2000 per month so i dont know what the issue with the posters

ehhh better than having none at all (india in case) if bharatis have a low memory

Not a single Pakistani member has said anything about the article but to talk about India. Why do you guys ask Indians not to bring Pakistan in a topic related to India ? Is it just different rules for different nationality or are you just feeling the heat.

It is not an issue with the poster. It is an issue with Pakistan. The one who posted did not create the news. He has just quoted from a media house with a source.

Jana, you are a journalist. You should know better.

And you have nothing to say but one liners. Instead why don't you comment on the article and make the thread a little more constructive.
"Oman Tribune - the edge of knowledge"
Considering the source of the article, is it even worth a comment, except it's a knock out material for the trolls.
No doubt food prices have hiked globally, even in the UK one feels the pinch, but the figures quoted for Pakistan are scandalous to say the least and Zaki has given an example to that effect.

what is there to say about a flawed survey ? the price hike here in our country did not force us to eat dust or go empty stomach to bed like those in India despite your "mighty growth".

oh good that you have talked about rules as per rules all topics on word "poverty" are banned. so either follow it or let others to post on bharati worst poverty :)

Agriculture declining : Wheat distribution

Agriculture in Balochistan has been declining for the last 10 years, especially in Makran, despite provincial claims that they are focusing on this sector. Agriculture is a sector that provides livelihoods to about two thirds of Pakistan’s population. Farmers in Balochistan are suffering from a critical situation. After a long time, the Balochistan government has addressed the needs of the farmers of district Kech by announcing a public scheme of distributing wheat among them, especially in Tehsil Dasht, where they have been leading a difficult life during the last decade. The farmers of Tehsil Dasht, after the June 2007 floods, did not receive their previous lost grain income; once again political parties like the National Party and Balochistan National Party Awami, BNP-A, dominated this wheat-distribution scheme.
Tehsildars and other gazetted officers are refusing to sign the legal documents of the poor farmers who have come from the rural areas of Dasht. These people do not have any resources and are facing many problems. The National Party and BNP-A activists who do not have an acre of land anywhere are benefiting from this scheme but the farmers and landlords of Tehsil Dasht, having on average 10-50 acres land, have been deprived of this scheme. These activists are getting hundreds of wheat bag seeds in the name of the poor public of Dasht but a farmer having 100 of acres of land is not given even five bags of wheat.

BNP-A and some other elite class people like Lala Rashid are seen in the agriculture office distributing wheat to their friends. It is surprising to see that government seeds in the city’s market are being sold in broad daylight but the concerned authorities do not take notice of these illegal acts. The commissioner of Makran is fully aware of this situation but cannot say anything in fear of the BNP-A. Local journalists in Turbat also indulge in this game by not covering this news; they have forgotten the watchdog function of the media. They are just using the media as a source of earning. Farmers from Tehsil Dasht seek help from the Balochistan High Court to take suo motu notice in order to overcome this situation in Turbat, otherwise the farmers of Dasht will once again suffer from the same situation they have been suffering from for a decade.
