34,000 women paramedics missing after Pakistan floods

:disagree: i have no doubt in my mind that India aka bharat and its paranoid propagandist media can stoop to even bellow the gutter level for doing propaganda against Pakistan. Period. these pale mentality people will never stop.

I along with other media persons have worked in flood-hit areas here and we are even working on missing children in floods and trust me the figure even is not double in cased of kids.

as far as woman paramedics are concerned there were hardly even 2K who were working in flood hit areas.

If this is the standard of journalist in Pakistan... I must say Indian journalism though still abysmal, is far better than Pakistani journalism.

I mean Tahira Abdullah has been directly quoted in above and people are claiming that story has been cooked by Indian media.
For those who don't know Tahira Abdullah is..She is prominent womens right activist in Pakistan, also guest on many Pakistani current affairs shows. She is liberal leftist, a very anti- Taliban and at the same time an anti-west women.

Let me ask: where is the UN report on which the news is based on?
Is it on UN's website?

understand this, 34000 thousand women is no joke.

Show me the report or it didnt happen.

Those districts where flood came are the poorest of all.

I wonder if we have such number of paramedic females even in Karachi or Lahore.

It is nothing more than point scoring.

'34000 women paramedics missing in Pak's flood affected areas' | Deccan Chronicle | 2010-11-27

As many as 34,000 female paramedical workers have reportedly gone missing in areas affected by the devastating floods that swept across Pakistan earlier 2010, civil society activist Tahira Abdullah has claimed.
Ms Abdullah claimed an unnamed UN consultant submitted a report regarding the missing paramedics but the government and concerned ministries failed to take any action.
"Even the provincial governments are silent on this report, which should have been enough to shake the entire set-up," she told a roundtable discussion on transparency in governance in Islamabad on Friday.

Anything coming from an "Unnamed UN consultant can't be credible.

This is along the lines of $200 million/day trip by Obama.

Please use some common sense before reacting to obviously ridiculous newreports.

Absolutely agree to it... 34,000 is a ridiculous no... Hope it is a lesser no... or it is completely farce...

I agree the number looks ridiculous, but it is not an 'Indian cooked up story' to malign Pakistan as some members stating here.

:agree:

Dont tell me that ToI-Geo-Jang aman ka tamasha represents Pakistani media.

Secondly do check the dates. even Geo published it today on its website whereas IANS the Indian news agency had been quoted by ME papers.

Above all the laughable thing is that this such a big joke which lacks any accurate backing data. If Indian media had been quick to copy past the BS from Jang group without using brain then indeed your media is more propagandist than anything.

No main stream media here in Pakistan reported it.

Its more than ridiculous because not even such a number of woman paramedics were working in the flood hit areas.

the social worker lady has surely lost authenticity if she had any by quoting something without varification

what are the main stream news papers in Pakistan....? Is GEO not one?

how the **** can 34,000 women go missing?.....even 3000-4000 is huge...say 300 missing is agreeable but 34,000? did all of them just disappear to another dimension or something....i hope India is not responsible for this....
