The Khalsa Panth has long been demanding a “special corridor” through the international border to the shrine that went to Pakistan because of the Great Game.

Khalsa Panth can get direct access to the historic Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur, situated barely 3km from the border in Gurdaspur, on the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of Sikhism, next year.

And In this "Great Game", more than 5000 square kilometers of adjoining land (Muslim majority tahsils of Gurdaspur, Batala, Dasuya, Jullundur, Nakodar etc. ), east and south-east of Kartarpur, was unfairly transferred to India, yet the Indians are complaining that they didn't get Kartarpur and fell 3 kilometers short because of the "Great Game" !!

Great Game is itself very big unfair game. Gurudwara Kartarpur Sahib is just 3 kms that means it should be around 10 kms from all the sides.

Involvement of UK based Khalistani, Kashmiri terror groups not ruled out, says CM

At least four people were killed and 15 injured in a grenade attack on a religious congregation at village Adliwal near Amritsar on Sunday.

The incident took place in the Nirankari Bhavan, said the police. A religious congregation of the Nirankaris was being conducted at the time of the incident. About 200 devotees, including many women were inside.

Probe under way
Chief Minister said forensic teams have been rushed to the spot and all angles were being investigated. “The possibility of involvement of UK-backed Khalistani and Kashmiri terror groups cannot be ruled out. Police teams have been rushed to raid suspected hideouts of the assailants and multiple teams are investigating,” Chief Minister said.

The attack has come at a time when the Punjab police were on high alert following intelligence inputs on infiltration of six to seven militants from across the international border. The Chief Minister said two men, one of them with a flowing beard, with covered faces, forced their way into the hall with a pistol. Punjab police detained the ‘sewadar,’ lobbed the grenade into the prayer room and fled on a motorcycle.

A small crater was formed by the impact of the explosion, and was being examined by the forensic teams.

The safety valve of the grenade had also been found and was being examined, the Chief Minister said.

Inspector-General of Police, Border range (Amritsar) told The Hindu, “The attack has been against a group of people and not against any individual. It seems to be a terror attack as there’s no reason to throw a hand grenade on a group of people.”

The Counter Intelligence wing of the Punjab police earlier this week issued a circular regarding the infiltration of six to seven militants through the international border in Ferozepur.

Moreover, the security agencies were also on alert after four persons snatched an SUV from its driver at gunpoint near Madhopur in Punjab’s Pathankot district a few days back.

Chief Minister said the attack strengthened the belief that international militant outfits was continuing with its nefarious activities to disturb the State’s peace.

Home Minister said in a tweet that the “strongest possible action will be taken against the perpetrators of this crime.”

Soon after the attack the Shiromani Akali Dal and the Aam Aadmi Party hit out at the Congress government in Punjab and raised questions over the law and order situation in the State.

5 lakh compensation
The Chief Minister announced a compensation of ₹five lakh each to the kin of the dead and directed the administration to provide the best medical care, free of cost, to the injured.

Chief Minister appealed to the people not to panic and maintain peace.

Got hundreds of thousands of sq kilometer land unfairly in different regions but still whining about some "great game" that lead to a small piece of land being fairly given to pakiatan

Typical qabza mafia mentality of bharati hindutvadis

Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh said the device used was similar to the HG-84 grenade recovered from a terror module busted by the police last month.

Adliwal (Amritsar), Nov 19

A day after the grenade attack, officials of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) combed the Nirankari Bhavan complex for about six hours.

The NIA team, comprising officials from Jammu and Kashmir and New Delhi, collected splinters of the HG-84 hand grenade used in the attack and recorded the statements of witnesses, including gatekeeper Arjun Singh and Gagandeep Singh.

Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh, PPCC president Sunil Jakhar, Cabinet ministers Navjot Singh Sidhu, OP Soni and Sukhbinder Singh Sukh Sarkaria, local MP Gurjit Aujla and others visited the spot and talked to NIA officials.

Earlier, Punjab DGP Suresh Arora, DGP (Intelligence) Dinkar Gupta and other police officers briefed the CM about the incident. Capt Amarinder Singh remained at the spot for about five minutes. Immediately after him, the NIA team left the scene.

Police sources said the HG-84 grenade was widely used by army personnel of Pakistan. They said it hinted at the involvement of Pakistan-based anti-national elements, including International Sikh Youth Federation chief Lakhbir Rode and Harmeet Singh alias PhD. The duo had allegedly trained several terror modules busted by the Punjab Police in the recent past.

The NIA are also ascertaining whether the incident was linked to the recent grenade attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, wherein a similar modus operandi was used.

Meanwhile, North India executive committee member, Nirankari Mission, Joginder Kaur and district incharge Sukhdev Singh visited the spot. Condemning the attack, Sukhdev Singh said their peace-loving mission had no enmity with anyone.

In a related development, the Rajasansi police registered an FIR pertaining to the attack under Sections 302 and 307 of the IPC, Sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act, Sections 3, 4, 5 and 6 of the Explosive Substances Act and Section 13 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act on the statement of Arjun Singh, who was posted at the entrance gate of the Nirankari Bhavan.

Sect to give Rs 10 lakh to kin of deceased

Chandigarh: The Sant Nirankari Mission on Monday announced Rs 10 lakh each for the families of the deceased. A press note by the mission said a team of executive committee of the Sant Nirankari Mandal would visit the families of the deceased and the injured in Amritsar. Joginder Kaur, regional incharge, said the prayers at all the centres would continue as usual. TNS

Fake sketches surface

Two sketches, purportedly of the persons who lobbed the hand grenade at the congregation, went viral on social media on Monday. However, SSP Parampal Singh said the Punjab Police had not released sketches of the suspects.

Row over red carpet

The Amritsar administration organised a press interaction with Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh near the spot. However, a red carpet laid out at the venue triggered a controversy. When the media flagged the issue, the authorities immediately replaced the red carpet with a green one. Later, the press meet was shifted to Guru Nanak Dev Hospital.

The Punjab police on Tuesday detained a few persons for questioning in the case of a grenade attack on a religious congregation at Adliwal near Amritsar, which claimed three lives.

The police are yet to arrest the assailants who carried out Sunday’s attack that the they said appeared to be an act of terror by separatist forces, organised with the involvement of the UK-backed Khalistani or Kashmiri terror groups.

Inspector-General Police, Border Range (Amritsar), S.P.S. Parmar told The Hindu that the police had detained a few people for an hour or two for questioning. “We are examining shady characters. Some people have been detained for an hour or two and then let off. The preliminary investigation is going on, and suspicious people are being rounded up and questioned.”

The Dal Khalsa, a radical outfit, alleged that several Sikh activists were summoned by the police, without the legal procedureshaving been followed. “The police came to the houses of Sikh activists Paramjit Singh Mand and Gurjant Singh in the early hours of Tuesday... and asked them to appear before it. While Mr. Mand was not at home, Mr. Gurjant Singh was taken into custody,” Dal Khalsa spokesperson Kanwar Pal Singh said. Dal Khalsa chief Harpal Singh Cheema said the police and investigating agencies should probe this attack without prejudice. “Until the identity of the attackers is not ascertained, the motive will remain dubious,” he said, urging that leaders of all parties refrain from accusations.

Punjab Assembly Speaker Rana K.P. Singh appealed to all parties to let the investigating agencies do their job. “It is a serious matter, and any attempt to make political capital out of it will prove disastrous for the State,” he said.
